By the end of sixth grade Jaycee was becoming more introverted. She was hiding away more than she use to. It was starting to worry her dad. One morning he was working at his dealership when Winnie brought him some coffee and donuts.
"Thanks Winnie.." he said
"Ben you look awful..when was the last time you slept." She said
He smirked. "I don't even know..Jaycee has me scared to death. She has become so much introverted she comes home in tears cause she is being called names. And it hurts even more when the boy who was once her best friend is joining in on the jokes." Ben said
Winnie shook her head. "We have tried to talk to him. He just doesnt want to hear it." Winnie said.
As summer break started she was relieved a little she got a break from it all. But by the third month of 7th grade Jaycee couldnt take much more. Jaylen had been doing her homework in the kitchen while Jaycee napped.
She went upstairs to see what she wanted for dinner. When she walked in she let out a blood curdling scream. She saw her sister on her bed with her wrists cut open. She called 911 and they rushed her to the hospital. She called her dad who rushed to the ER.
They stitched her up and kept her for three days. Jaylen kept a tight lip on her sister's attempt to end her life. Jaylen laid by her sister's side and squeezed her hand.
"You gotta be strong baby sis. I need you here with me sweet sister. Let go of the pain." She said
Jaylen stayed by her side through all the therapy. Winnie and James decided to not tell Bucky cause he was to far down the dark hole of popularity.
The suicide attempt also put a rift between James and Ben. Which caused Ben to not use James' autoshop as much anymore.
Jaycee had all of her classes changed as well as her locker. She continued to hide away in the library on bad days. She forced fake smiles and hid tears.
