Boyd (our patient) has been in the hospital for 3 days. We haven't figured out what's wrong with him and his condition is only getting worse. There was only one day left until the board approval came back and I was excited. It was frustrating not being able to date Wilson because of some stupid board rule, it's not like our relationship is going to kill a patient. I was sitting in House's office on the floor brainstorming ideas for what Boyd could have.

"Why are you on the floor" Asked House when he walked in

"Because I spilled my coffee on the table and I don't want to clean it up"

House looked over at the table where I did indeed spill my coffee. He turned back to me.

"Well, do you have any ideas?" He said

"The only one that matches up is an STD"

"Than why aren't you testing for that?"

"The kid's a saint, he wears a promise ring I doubt he's had sex"

"Do you listen to me at all?! EVERYBODY LIES!"

"I know, but his dad won't let me test for gonorrhoea"

"Do it without him finding out"

"Unlike you I don't like breaking the law"

"I don't like it I only do it because you won't. It's a real drag"

"Fine, but you're taking the blame if I get caught"

"No I'm not"

"We'll see about that" I said and walked out. I walked down the hall to Boyd's room.

"Hey Boyd, you feeling any better?" I said as I walked in

"Not really. God told me I must replenish my body, when will I be able to drink water again" he asked

"I'm sorry but you can't have any yet, only what the hospital gives you. Too much water could cause low sodium levels and worsen your condition"

"Okay, is there anything you came in here to do?" His dad asked clearly worried

"I need to collect some blood samples"

"Not for gonorrhoea" Boyds dad (Anthony) replied

"No it's not for gonorrhoea" I said lying

"Then what are you testing him for?"

"Umm Lupus"

"Lupus"

"Yes Lupus, it's when your body has an allergic reaction to itself and sends out antibodies to perfectly fine organs. It would explain Boyd's kidney trouble" I said improvising

"Okay, is lupus curable?" Anthony Asked

"It is manageable"

He nodded

"Okay Boyd, you know the drill" I said turning to Boyd. He stuck his arm out. As I grabbed the phlebotomy tray.
I put the needle into his arm and he squinted.

"Sorry Boyd, I'm almost done"

He nodded and I took the needle out.

"All done, the results will be back in soon" I said and removed my gloves

I left the room and went to the pathology lab. Foreman was already there.

"Why are you here?" I asked as I sat down in front of a microscope

"Chase is working the nursery today so I'm in charge of his duties"
