“Good. Because it is. Pan’s back.” Hook said, disgust in his voice.

Suddenly, a bright light, Tinker Bell, appeared around Hook’s face.

Hook waved Tinker Bell out of his face, that much I could see, then they moved out of view from the tiny hole in the floorboard I was looking out of.

Suddenly guns, cannons, and many shouts filled the air all at once.

“PETER!” Hook yelled.

“Jimmy-” Peter started.

“Don’t you call me that anymore! You’re terrible just like your father!”

“Jimmy, I’m sorry-”

“Well, it’s too late, now, isn’t it?”

They were back in view now. I saw the look of…hurt?…disappointment? Something along those lines on Peter’s face. He looked just like I thought he would. Brown hair, brown eyes, about 14 years old. He turned on his heel (if that was possible in air) and left. If he were a dog, he would have had his tail between his legs in shame.

I was sitting on a hammock at that point waiting for someone to come and get me so I could get some fresh air instead of staying down in the dark. Suddenly, the hatch opened and Starkey came down.

“If you want, you can come up. Or you can stay there for now.”

“Thanks. I don’t exactly think an hour of sitting here’s been my cup of tea. I’ll be up shortly.”

I stood up and straightened my appearance in a tarnished mirror that I could barely see myself in. After about 5 minutes I went up on the deck only to find that it was empty. I went to the edge where I had knocked Cecco off earlier and swung my legs over the side and sat there. The ocean breeze felt good and cool after being in the stuffy room below the main deck. Neverland at night was just as beautiful as it was during the day. The trees in the jungle rustled their branches and the frozen forest’s snow fell steadily. I could have stayed up all night watching the relaxing scene.

“So, what made you want to have a chance?”

I turned to find the captain standing behind me staring out at the island as well.

“I guess the idea of sudden death wasn’t as appealing as having a chance was. There was a better possibility of me living if I could try. Not that drowning wouldn’t be fun.”

“I see.”

I turned back around and watched the island. It seemed like forever we watched the beautiful world in silence.

“How did you get here?” Hook asked, the first noise after fifteen minutes.

“I don’t know. I woke up in the frozen forest over there,” I said pointed to the barren trees and snowing skies, “And a day later Starkey and Smee found me.”

“Do you remember anything before that?”

“Not really. Well, a little. I was walking around by the creek at my house. I thought I saw something glowing down at the edge, so I went to see what it was. Right as I started walking down the steep edge, I fell and hit something hard.“ I tried to remember more, but I couldn’t, “And that’s it.”

“You found the Orb.” Hook muttered to himself.

“What?”

“The Orb. It’s what takes people to Neverland. There used to be one that took people back to Earth, but there was an accident at Bull Island, and it’s been lost since.”
