Five jumped out of the car, an uneasy feeling washing over him though he wasn't sure as to why. He had tracked Diego's car here to find you after hearing nobody at the Academy had any clue to where the hell you were. He had done it, he had found the name of the man responsible for the apocalypse all he needed now was Natalia. After all it all started with them, might as well finish it that way right? He also had no clue who this Harold Jenkins was and whether he admitted it or not he needed her help to find this mystery man. Five looked around confused seeing Diego's car nowhere in sight. He checked the device in his hand again, surely it gave him the wrong address but the house remained the same and the house he was at. Stupid thing must be broken he thought, throwing the device back in the van he had stolen. He looked down the driveway with a sigh about to give up and look elsewhere when something caught his attention. At the end of the driveway stood two garbage bins. The one on the right is the one which caught his attention. The lid hung open slightly a single pale something it's path from closing. Five squinted his eyes to get a better look at whatever was sticking out when his eyes widened in realization, it was a hand.

And I am feeling so small

"No." It was quiet when it came out of his mouth, barely over a whisper. But in the quiet air around him it might as well have been a scream.

Five felt his heart sink in his chest, his posture slumped as his body involuntary ran towards the garbage bin. Adrenaline coursed through his veins. This couldn't be her, right? There was no way, he still had three days to save her, three days to make it right. The sun still had to rise tomorrow, there's no way it's her.

It was over my head I know nothing at all

Five's heart thumped in his chest louder than his breathing as his hand slowly extended towards the lid of the bin.

"Please, please, please, don't be her. Anyone but her." Five whispered to himself, tears welling in his eyes.

He just got her back, he just got his best friend, his Tals, his love back. He can't lose her, not now, not ever, not again.

Five let out a small shaky breath as he pulled open the garbage pin. His eyes widened and he felt his heart sink even further than before.

"No." There it was again, but this time it wasn't just a whisper. No. This time the simple word held every emotion he felt in that second.

And I will stumble and fall

"No, no, no, no, no." Five repeated, lifting his entire reason for living out of the garbage.

She was the only thing that kept him going in the apocalypse, the thought her her smiling at him and laughing with him and the thought of her dead body with a rod through her chest is what kept him going. Because as long as he lived he would get back to her and he would protect her with everything he has in him to prevent the nightmare that haunts him every night. But he failed, he failed because here she was, his love, his life, his sun, laying dead in his arms.

"It's supposed to be you and me damn it. Us against the world."

No this is a dream, you're dreaming. Five thought to himself as he laid on the ground cradling Natalia in his lap. This is a dream, it's just a dream. He thought again, this time pinching his arm. But oh he felt it, he felt the pinch like a knife going through his heart. It wasn't a dream.

I'm still learning to love, just starting to crawl

Tears spilled from Five's eyes like a river. This isn't real this can't be happening. Five thought but he knew, deep down he knew this was real and it was his fault for not being there to protect you. He looked to his hands seeing blood covering them, her blood. Five wanted to throw up, a sick feeling forming in his stomach to fill with the tremendous

Say something, I'm giving up on you

"Natalia, Natalia can you hear me?" Five semi yelled, brushing strands of hair off her face.

Trails of blood followed the strands he had brushed off her face. There was so much blood, so much.

"Come on Tals can you hear me?" Five yelled, shaking her slightly. But it was pointless and Five knew it too. She was well past dead. Her bright color faded into a dull gray, her lips a purple. But even in death, even with all the blood covering her neck down and the trail of it falling down her chin from her mouth she was still beautiful to Five, still his sunshine.

I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

"Please wake up. Please, please, please wake up love." Five begged, running his hand through her hair.

Tears fell from Five's cheeks as silent cries rocked his body. He brought Natalia's chest to his, resting his forehead on her own. He rocked back and fourth slightly, tightening his grip on the love of his life. God he didn't even tell her, he never actually told her how much he truly loved her.

"Please baby please." He begged, his tears falling onto her face below him.

Anywhere I would have followed you

Five pulled away from Natalia and ran his thumb over her cheek, wiping a few of his tears away. How could he let this happen? How could he let her slip away?

And I will swallow my pride

"Hey, you know that...that you're my sunshine? M-my only sunshine?" Five asked, his voice breaking.

"Y-you make me happy whe-when skies are grey." Five quietly sang, his lip starting to quiver.

"Y-you'll nev-never know dear how m-much..." Five started, his own sobs cutting him off.

He rocked back and forth cradling Natalia in his arms, his nose against hers.

"I love you....god I love you so much." Five said, in between his sobs.

Five's sobs shook the quiet air like gunshots. The most painful thing anyone could ever hear, especially when a tiny scream of anguish would slip through the cries.

"Come back to me. P-Please come back to me."

You're the one that I love

Five knew he had to make this right, he had to fix this. He had to fix her. And he'd do it, no matter the cost.

And I'm saying goodbye
