I walked out of the limo behind Klaus, the crowd cheering around us. I adjusted my blazer as I walked towards the doors of the gloomy Academy. How I'd give anything to move out, have a normal family. In reality we're all just super powered mistakes living under the same roof, all of us strangers not really knowing a single thing about the other. I was almost to the steps of the Academy when a hand grabbed my arm. I spun around to see a kid probably my age wearing a makeshift uniform like ours with a mask no doubt cut from paper.

"Excuse me. I'm your biggest fan." He said with a wide grin.

"You're not supposed to be here." I spat, pulling my arm from his grip.

"Get back behind the barricade!" Dad yelled pulling me behind him.

"Number Eight join the others inside. I will handle this matter myself." Dad said sternly.

"Gladly." I said, turning to walk back to the Academy.

It was nighttime when I finally reached Vanya's place. I had spent the majority of the day searching for the stupid Leonard's house. His name doesn't show up anywhere, weird huh? I thought so. Which is why I have my guard up. Vanya could be in serious danger if this Leonard man really isn't who he says he is. I walked up to the door knocking on it. To be honest I was quit nervous. The last time I talked to Vanya it hadn't gone all that well and who knows if she'll even believe me. But nonetheless someone had to warn her of the upcoming doom.

The door to the house swung open and I jumped a little startled at how fast it had opened. A small smile formed on my face as I looked to the door, expecting Vanya to answer but my smile faded quickly when I saw it was the Leonard guy.

"Uh can I help you?" He asked, his body tensing.

I raised a brow at his sudden change in posture. He went from slumped and calm to tight and alert with the snap of a finger.

"Lance was it?" I asked, looking past him for Vanya, hoping to piss him off in the process.

"Leonard." He corrected.

I don't like this guy at all if you couldn't tell. I mean there's nobody by the name of Leonard Peabody and that alone is a huge red flag.

"Is Vanya home?" I asked, looking back to him.

"She's in the shower." He said, his voice rising ever so slightly.

He was lying. Not only did I pick it out from the change in voice, or the anxious tapping of his fingers on the door post but the single fact that there was no sound of a shower running.
