Karin and Shisui had been sitting above the tree and had their presence concealed as they watch from afar the battle between Kakashi and Naruto against Diedara.

"What's your guess at this rate, Karin?" Shisui asked.

"If Naruto wouldn't be reckless, this is where Diedara will meet his end."

Karin's thoughts wandered through her time in the Leaf Village. While Shisui was monitoring closely the fight between them when Karin tugged on his sleeve.

"Let's go nii-san," she stood and had her palm against the tree.

"You're not going to watch anymore?"

She shook her head, "I have to practice more to protect you and those idiots."

"What idiot?"

"Itachi and Sasuke."

"Alright then," Shisui flickered back first to their hideout.

Karin looked back and saw the struggling Kakashi before copying her brother.

Deep in the forest where it's far from their hideout, a route where no shinobi's often wandered, and no nearby villages around, Shisui had Karin trained for her eyes.

"Do you think you can keep up if you've used enough chakra before this?" Shisui worried.

"Don't worry, I know how much chakra my eyes drain before it could kill me. This will be enough."

"I told you not to fuse your fire and wind nature, now you're completely tired."

"No, if I won't do my all and just depend on you every time then I will be useless with this mission!"

Shisui sighed, he still considers Karin as a kid. He doesn't want to lose her as she's the only family he had left. Also, the reason for him to not entrust Karin to Itachi was because of the reason his mother died; from the massacre.

"Very well, activate your dojutsu now, Karin."

She closed her eyes and breathe deeply, once her eyes activated she opened them and trapped Shisui inside her genjutsu.

Her genjutsu isn't red and black nor it looks really as the others. Hers is pitched black, while the person caught within her genjutsu is white but opaque.

She does not create a scenario nor couldn't control the time in her genjutsu but the victim could hear voices, making them go insane. Once the person inside her genjutsu would find a way to kill themselves, the reality of it, the person would bleed through their ears, eyes, mouth, then finally, their head. Once the bleeding starts coming out through their head, it's the end of it.

But since Karin couldn't fully control her power, it happens fast enough to kill the person in just 10 seconds. The reason why she wouldn't use it unless Shisui is the person she would use it to. Because they share the same blood, the effect on both Uchiha and Kikuchi is less lethal than on a different person. Also, the very reason why she didn't activate it when Kakashi asked.

Karin trapped Shisui the moment she opened her eyes, like her brother, she's also able to trap multiple enemies within her radius though it more chakra draining than using it on one person.

Shisui broke through Karin's genjutsu when he felt his eyes bleed, few more seconds and he could've died.

Karin was on her knees, panting when he opened his eye. He hurried next to her and tried calming her by rubbing her back.

"It lasted for more than 2 minutes, I guess." she struggled between her breathing.

"It means you're getting better."

"I tried controlling the speed of my power but in the end, it will never go past 5 minutes."

"But you're getting better. Now," Shisui stood up and offered his hand, "let's get back home and rest." he said as he helped Karin on her feet.

"I want to practice coating fire and wind at the weapons tomorrow."

"Really, you're so reckless when using chakra just because you have more than a normal shinobi."

"I just want to test it," she giggled as she walked ahead of Shisui.

"Why, so you can fuse Wind and Fire after mastering it?"

Karin stopped and faced Shisui, smiling, "you are not my brother if you don't know what I'm thinking, Shisui." she chuckled before turning back and start walking.

"Oi," he jogged towards her, "onii-san!" he said.

"Shisui!" she sang, teasing him.

"Onii-san!" he finally caught up to her.

"Shisui--" she said, Shisui groaned, "onii-sama."
He dropped his head, and sigh before rubbing his knuckle on Karin's crown.

"You're so handful, imoto."

The next morning, near the pond where their hideout is, Karin playfully tried controlling the waters and she was surprised when she succeeded.

"Huh?" she was surprised and once again formed a big water bubble out of the pond to confirm and when she did and succeeded in elevating it a meter from the pond, she popped the bubble and ran back to Shisui who is now leaving their place.

"What is it?" Shisui said.

"I think I can control water."

Shisui shut his eye tightly, "you got another nature to play, please tell me you're not going to add it to your nature wrapped weapons technique, as you call it?" his brow twitched.

"Oh," she said, "great idea!"

He groaned, "let's get started."

He and Karin started walking towards their training ground.

"Show me how you do it with the wind," he demanded.

Karin took five kunai and two shuriken and coated them with wind, making them sharper than they were and threw it out towards the trees. Karin did a trick where she spreads the wind and connected all the weapons through it, cutting a giant tree.

Shisui was impressed. He told her to do the same but with fire.

Karin nodded and took one shuriken and threw it without coating fire, before Shisui could open his mouth to tell her it's not coated with fire, the shuriken is now coated with blue fire.

'Blue?'

Shisui looked at her sister, she shot a fire using her forefinger to the shuriken. It was almost invisible for how thin the fire was before if caught with the shuriken. He was impressed once again.
But she was not done, she turned the fire from blue to purple causing Shisui to think his sister had surpassed him and Itachi.

The speed of the shuriken increased as the fire widened and cut through five bigger trees that were targetted.

Shisui once again praised his sister. The two kept practicing for weeks after weeks until Karin had finally mastered her genjutsu.

And they set out for another mission again.
