"Onii-san," Karin said softly, studying her brother.

"Don't worry, I'll fight them. Stay here and hide,"
Karin shook her head, protesting.

"Karin, I promise you I'll protect you. I don't want them to harm you."

Shisui went out from hiding and waited for them to find him.

"Shisui!"

Karin wanted to disobey her brother so badly, but he knew she can't bring herself to brutally harm Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura because of the bond formed while she was on the mission.

"Where is Karin, Uchiha?" Neji said.

He was the one who found him first, presuming the others would follow.

"I won't hand my sister to you!"

Neji threw a bunch of kunai to the Uchiha but it was no use, Shisui's reflexes are fast.

Neji charged and didn't avert his gaze to the enemy, Shisui forge his chakra to his foot but Neji noticed it and before Shisui could land the blow on Neji, Shikamaru appeared behind him and paralyzed Shisui.

Taking the opportunity, Neji used Hakke Rokujuyon Sho on Shisui blocking his chakra points. When Shikamaru released him, Shisui dropped on his knees panting causing Karin to disobey Shisui as he needs her help from what she witnessed but unbeknownst to them, it was just a substitution.

Karin formed fire and manipulated them to form into kunai, as she threw it towards the two, she uses a jutsu to multiply the fire causing the two to fall back and Naruto recklessly counter her with a massive rasengan.

Using the technique Karin is trying to master for long, she combined two of her chakra nature and defeated Naruto's rasengan, having him hit his back to a tree. But the attack cost Karin a lot of chakra.

Shisui grabbed Karin as Sakura punched the ground, having Karin to would've trapped her if he didn't come on time but before he could jump far, Shikamaru caught his foot using his shadows, dropping Karin in the process.

"Shisui, if you insist on fighting back, we have no choice but to eliminate you," Kakashi said.

"You won't get Karin even I'm dead!"

Karin grabbed Shisui and placed him behind her. Kakashi and the others were surprised by her sudden action, she closed her eyes and when she opened it, her dojutsu activated, trapping everyone in her genjutsu.

Shisui was surprised, he can see his sister is struggling from the little chakra she had left and he knew its hard for her to hurt them, especially Kakashi.

The others dropped on their knees as Karin controlled the speed of her genjutsu but one thing is clear to her, she made sure her words reached Kakashi.

As their ears started bleeding, Shisui just watched his sister protecting him from them. Shortly, their eyes started bleeding.

"No," Shisui uttered, "Karin."

Before their mouth could bleed, Kakashi tried so hard to break everyone through from the unusual genjutsu and not for long, he did. Surprising Karin.

She clenched her teeth as she dropped to the ground, "Sharingan."

"Karin," Shisui had lost all the senses he had seeing Karin's state, forgetting that he's in the middle of a fight. "Imoto!"

Kakashi and the others are panting, traumatize from what happened to them inside her evil genjutsu.

"What was that, Karin?" Kakashi asked between his breath, "you..."

Before he could find the words to continue what to say, Neji activated his byakugan and told Naruto to hit them with rasengan.

Kakashi was still confused, and the happenings are too fast for him to process.

Shikamaru then once again trapped the unhinged Shisui and Naruto successfully landed a blow on him.

Karin saw everything and tears started falling in her eyes, but Shisui stood up and decided to fight with the very small chakra he had left. Just to protect her.

Shisui activated his mangekyou, from what she witnessed, Karin covered her mouth. Shisui then manipulated Neji to block Sakura's chakra points to prevent her from giving aid to her teammates.

"Shisui, what are you doing?" Kakashi growled.

"Shikamaru," at Kakashi's mention of his name, the Nara already know what to do. He tried trapping the Uchiha to his shadows again but he moved quickly and missed. Shisui grabbed Karin and placed her safely away from the battle to let her regain her strength. He then flickered on the top of the branch and threw a bunch of kunai towards them.

Noticing, they all flee and Naruto grabbed Sakura but Shisui has already planted explosive tags near them causing a tree to scratch Neji's leg.
As they all act calm, Shikamaru discreetly had his shadows move and successfully paralyzing the Uchiha.

Kakashi then charged towards him with Chidori and in a split second, Kakashi penetrated to the enemy's chest but as soon as he pulled his hand out, Kakashi was met with a pair of a crying black and red eyes when the person he hit dropped on the ground.

The necklace Shisui gave Karin earlier was in pieces next to her body.

Kakashi looked at the person and from Shisui, it slowly changes to Karin.

Naruto and their others gasped from surprised, their jaw left hanging as they witnessed Shisui still alive.

"Can't it be," Naruto said and looked at Karin's direction but she wasn't there anymore.

Karin used up all her chakra to flicker towards Shisui and transform into him to trick Kakashi, leading her death.

"Karin," Kakashi whispered as tears escaped from his eyes.

"Sensei," Naruto grabbed Kakashi and drag him away from Karin but Kakashi won't budge.
Shisui was in a daze as he stares at his younger sister's lifeless body.

"Rin," Shisui said.

Kakashi remembered the time his teammate Rin Nohara jumped in and die.

For him, it was like a deja vu.

"Kakashi," he said enough for him to hear it, "how does it feel to end the life of the person who loves you?"

Shisui moved his head and looked up to look at Kakashi straight in the eye.

"How does it feel, Hatake!"

Shisui screamed as his anger filled his heart. He blamed himself for not protecting his one and only sibling from death. Now, he has no one else left. Everyone was ripped from him and he thought his life is now meaningless.

"I--"

Shisui activated his mangekyou and manipulated them to not move as he started beating Kakashi.

"Do you enjoy killing people with that jutsu of yours?"

Shisui again landed a blow on Kakashi who is now strangled on the ground.

"ANSWER ME KAKASHI HATAKE!"

"I loved her..." Kakashi uttered.

But this angered Shisui furthermore and started beating him up again.
