Disaster in the Sky

Carson's POV

Until I was higher than the house. I felt free from worry, from fear, from guilt. I went up higher and higher.

Everyone was an ant, but I couldn't crush them.

I was so close to the clouds, til I reached them. I flew through the cloud, it was damp, yet cool and soft. The clouds went so fast, I could barley catch up to them.

"CARSON!" I heard Clayton yell. I stopped and hovered. Then I swooped down back to the balcony. I walked down the stairs, he noticed me, then ran and hugged me.

"Please don't run off like that again."

"Hey Clayton,"

"What?"

"I flew."

"You what?! That's amazing! Can I see?"

{}{}{}

"Are you ready?" I nodded.

"Ok, 3... 2... 1... GO!" He yelled like it was a race. I threw drop a powerful flap, and I was off. I laughed, not everyone can feel this sensation. I looked down at him, he was smiling with happiness. I hovered 10 feet above the ground.

"What's it like?" he asked.

"Amazing, I just wish you could do it with me!"

"What if you could carry me?"

I lowered down and hugged him, then I started to lift off, still holding on to him.

"Carson? Carson!? ARE YOU CRAZY!?" He yelled.

"No, but I want to spend the most of my with you!" I lifted up more, and he squirmed in my arms. But with one more powerful flap, I rocketed into the sky.

"CAN WE PLEASE GO DOWN!? I'M AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!" I looked at him, I suddenly felt angry, and let go in mid-air. I watched him. NO! STOP IT! STOP! It was torture, seeing him fall. I broke out of my evil trance and swooped down as fast as I could. I folded up my wings to slip through the air faster.

"CLAYTON!!!" I cried, tears flying upwards as I fell with him. He reached his hand out, I attempted to catch it, and succeeded. I grabbed his other hand, then held him against my body as tight as I could. I instantly spread out my wings out like parachute, but I heard a snap, and we kept on falling. I screamed in pain, as I found out it was my wing. I held on to him tighter, but as we were going to hit the ground... nothing happened. I opened my eyes, only to find a light blue bubble surrounding us. I lowered my feet to the ground and the bubble popped. Clayton gasped for air, while I was on my knees, trying to take in the pain.

"Carson!" He yelled.

"Your wing..." I looked at it, it was worse than before. Then I felt a terrifyingly painful surge go through my body, I held my mouth shut since I knew the scream would cause trouble. It felt like forever, but when it was over, I felt a thousand times better.

Clayton just stood and stared.

"Y- Your wing... it's h-healed..." he stuttered. I looked at it once more, he was right, it was fully healed.
