It was an innocent kiss. Not more than three seconds, but those three seconds were enough for them. Edmund had been dying to kiss her since they became closer back at the first time she came into Narnia and Reagan... she didn't even know that she wanted to kiss him until she felt his lips on hers. Even when he broke the kiss, she wasn't able to open her eyes for a few seconds, still processing what had just happened.

His hand was now cupping Reagan's face, getting tangled on her hair, while hers was still at Edmund's leg.

     "I'm sorry, Reagan. I just..."

"Don't apologize, please. I liked it, Edmund. I just didn't expect it. But it was nice, maybe if it lasted a little longer..." she looked his way, although somewhat embarrassed. She wanted his lips on hers again, she didn't even matter they were a bit chapped. Edmund smiled sideways and, putting a hand on her waist, leaned in again.

This time their lips were attached for ten seconds more and Edmund even felt confident enough to move his lips a little and not leave it in just a long peck. He knew perfectly well that the girl had no experience with kissing so he did not want to make her feel uneasy, the reason why he went slowly and with care. Reagan put her free hand, the one that wasn't on his leg, on his arm, unsure if that was okay. But for once, she did not think about it, she just melted into the kiss and enjoyed it like one enjoys seeing the dryads dancing through the halls of the castle or like one enjoys a feast after a long war.

Once they broke apart, they drifted her gaze towards the ocean, not sure of what to say to each other. For another hour, both teenagers stayed there, with their backs on the floor of the ship and their eyes on the stars.

"Do you see that group of stars?" she asked him pointing with her finger some spots above them. Edmund nodded and the girl continued talking, "it's the Faun. One of the biggest constellations in Narnia. And if you look pretty closely, you can see the Fairy too. I used to think that the Fairy was formed by real fairies that stayed pretty still during the whole night until my professor broke my dream and told me they were not fairies but stars like every other constellation."

Her speech was broken by a yawn that made Edmund look at her.

"Okay, it's time to go to bed. It is late already," he got up and offered his hand for Reagan to take and get up too, "sleep tight. See you tomorrow."

The girl was so tired that she didn't even have the strength to reply, so she just nodded instead and after hugging Edmund, started walking towards her room. There stood Lucy, completely awake and waiting for her. As soon as the princess entered the room, the Pevensie girl turned on the lights, making Reagan jump from the surprise.

"Oh my God, Lucy. You scared me. What are you doing awake?"

"I could ask you the same question," the Queen replied, "where were you?"

"Outside, just having some fresh air with Edmund. Why do you ask?" Reagan was already eager about telling Lucy what had happened just an hour ago, but she decided to tease the girl out of pure amusement. However, she could not help but raise his pitch, something that happened quite a lot when she was excited about something.

"Did something happen?", Lucy continued questioning. She knew perfectly well what had happened, or so she hoped, but wanted her friend to tell her herself.

"We kind of... kissed," the girl admitted unable of hiding her smile. As the words were leaving her mouth, she could feel herself getting redder and redder by the second, so she put her hands up to her face to try and hide the obvious effects speaking about Edmund had in her.
