Christian stats to walk towards me while I'm walking towards him. We stand in silence until I decide to be the first one to speak."Christian, I'm so sorry for running away. I just wasn't expecting you to say that to me. It threw me off guard."
He relaxes at my words, I can see his shoulders relax along with his jaw. "It's okay. I accept your apology Mae. I just thought I upset you. I didn't mean to, it's just what I was feeling and I guess I couldn't help but express that."
Now I can relax a little, I look at him. "It's okay. I understand. I just want you to know how and what I was feeling and I couldn't help but express that."
He nods his head, taking in everything I'm saying. We make small talk for a little bit, talking about classes and other things. He lets me go after I tell him I had to meet up with Kiya and that I'll probably see him at the frat house.
As he starts walking away I get in my car, starting it and jump when someone taps on the window. I roll it down looking at him, "Yes?" I ask.
He smiles, "Do you mind if I catch a ride with you?"
"Sure, but I have to go to my dorm and change."
Christian doesn't seem to mind, he gets in the car with me and smiles. I return the gesture. We make it to my dorm house quickly and we both head inside.
"Give me like 15 minutes and I'll be ready."
"Don't worry, take your time," he says.
I watch as he walks over to my book shelf and picks out a book and plops down on my bed to read, he gets lost in it quickly. I got to my closet and find my Pink Floyd crop top. It's comfy. I put my hair in two French braids. My make up needed to be redone because all the crying I just did.
You're being a selfish bitch.
Oh you don't think Kiya had anxiety too?
A fucking selfish bitch.
I shake the thought. After changing I leave the bathroom and see Luke and Christian talking. Jess is fixing her make up, she smiles at me through he mirror. I smile back.
Luke gets up and walks over to me, placing his hands on my shoulders. "Hey Mae, are you doing ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just getting ready to go to the frat house. I told Kiya I'd meet her there."
Jess looks at me for a second, "Hey do you mind if Luke and I catch a ride with you?"
"Ya'll can, I don't mind," I say with a smile.
Jess and I finish up and we all file out of the room and walk to my car. It's a silent ride for the most part, with Luke randomly singing to the music on the radio.
After I park and we all climb out of my Jeep Luke and Jess race to the door. It's cute how adorable they are. I start to walk, but I feel a gentle hand wrap around my wrist. Christian pulls me back. I look up at him. "Yes?"
"I... I just wanted to say you look beautiful. I mean I was going to tell you before Jess and Luke started talking to you."
I feel my cheeks grow red. "Well thank you Christian, that was very sweet of you."
He smiles at me and we star to walk onto the lawn. I start to think that I've never asked him how he got my number. We get to the door and he opens it for me, "Hey, Christian, how did you get my number?"
He's quiet for a moment, "Well I thought you wouldn't mind because she said it was fine."
I look at him confused. "She?"
