I haven't felt this happy in a long time, the movie "date" I had with Hero was fun and I didn't feel any kind of stress. On top of all that I was able to relax in my own comfortable attire without being judged, until we made it out of the theater."Really Hero?" The girl laughs and places a hand on his shoulder. "A girl like her? I was probably way more fun."
She tilts her head at me and raises her eyebrows; "I'll see you around Tiffin. Don't forget, I used to be the one that wore your jacket."
These words echoed in my mind, over and over as if it was a never-ending void. I felt like I had been used, all over again.
"Mae..." Hero begins.
I feel him reach for my hand but I pulled it back so fast that I almost hit him, tears pool up in my eyes and I quickly wipe my eyes before I push open the door and make my way out towards the parking lot.
"Fuck!" I hear him yell. "Mae!"
I walked as fast as I could until I feel myself running after I leave the lot, so I wouldn't make a seen, but he wasn't helping the situation. I quickly pull out my phone and scroll through my contacts to find Tom.
No answer.
"Come on Tom!" I yell at my phone.
It rings about four more times before I hear someone pick up, "Hello?"
"Tom?" I question quickly.
There's a small laugh, "Nah, he's in his room getting dressed, it's Luke."
At this point I've walked down the street and hid behind a building to make sure Hero doesn't find me. "Can... Can you please come get me and take me back to my dorm?"
There is a silent tone on the other end for a few second, "Luke for God sakes please?"
"Yeah, just text me where you're at and I'll be there as soon as possible," he tells me.
I don't even respond and quickly hang up.

After Luke picks me up and I pulled myself into his truck, I'm very quiet, staring out the window watching all the cars pass by and the trees. I told Luke to take the long way around because if I know Hero like I do he will show up there first and I don't want to deal with him.
I can see the familiar buildings and other things I'm used to about 15 minutes later, we stop and get a coffee from the drive thru and finally while we are waiting in line Luke looks at me, his lip ring between his teeth before he takes a breath, "So you want to tell me what's going on?"
I look at him. "Not really, I was just in a bad situation and needed out of it."
"Does that situation start with an H by chance?"
I smile a little at his wit and just nod a couple times. We move up in the line and finally get our coffee. Even though its later in the evening, and I refuse to call Kiya because she's having a great night with Niall, she texted me, I know I will not be getting much sleep tonight. "Thank you for the coffee."
"Yeah, it's no problem at all," he says. "What did he do?"
I let out a sigh and watch the twilight in the distance over the small hills that surround the parking lot of the coffee shop. "It's what he didn't do," I mange to get out.
"I can tell you've been crying," he says, placing a hand on my shoulder, relaxing me. "Hero is a dick, he will always be a dick, there is literally no one who can change him.
