Episode 8: Selfish Retalliation
Daisy watched the car next to her, her eyes half-lidded and her lips forming a tired grin. She waltzed over to it, whatever the driver did made her mesmerized to hop in the car. Through her high vision, a purple, blue, and green haze floated around the car. It seemed fun.
Just as she was about to grab the handle, Daisy felt herself get pulled back. A hand gripped onto the back of her collar, along with the long nails scraping her skin. She groaned as whoever held her shoved her away from the car.
Daisy looked up at whoever it was and smiled.
Fortunately for everyone, Palutena was always on time when it came to a crisis. With that other time as an exception.
"Sorry." Was all Pat said to the person in the car before dragging Daisy back into the hospital.
After finding the room number and seeing the three still freaking out on the bench outside, Palutena stepped in front of them, yanking Daisy in front of her to show them what they did wrong.
Roy, Peach, and Rosalina blinked.
Palutena had that look on her face. The one that told everyone in the room that she was gonna explode. 3...2...1-
"ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!"
Here we go.
"YOU IGNORANT ASSHOLES REALLY COULN'T KEEP AN EYE ON THE MAIN REASON YOU'RE HERE?! YOU KNOW SHE'S HIGH ON MEDS, YOU KNOW HOW SHE GETS, ARE YOU ALL REALLY THAT FUCKING STUPID ENOUGH TO LET HER OUT OF YOUR SIGHTS TO ARGUE ABOUT SOME SHIT?!"
The three on the bench looked up nervously at Palutena, meanwhile, Daisy was happily skipping around every one, then perching herself on Roy's lap.
Everyone in the hall was either completely shocked or have seen shit like this happen enough times for it to be normal. It is, in a way.
The thing about Palutena when it comes to a situation like this is that she starts spiraling. Meaning that she rambles and rambles and repeats herself. Then she goes apeshit. And when that last step happens, all the little anxieties of the past that almost have no reason for coming up breach her mind.
Then it's hard for her to breathe.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED TO HER?! I DON'T WANT SHIT TO HAPPEN AGAIN I DON'T WANT SOMEONE TO FUCKING DIE AND..."
She rambled on in her state of pure anxiety. She didn't realize it but she was slowly backing up into the opposite wall, her back touching the cold surface. The sudden contact made her jump, then fall to her knees on the ground as she tried to hold her chest as if that would make her heart go back to normal.
"Pat-"
A loud gasping inhale came from the green-haired woman's mouth. Peach quickly rushed to her side and helped her on her feet, attempting to calm her down.
It was all a mix of struggled breathing and frantic words in that small section of the hall. Soon, some workers came to assist them.
The man from the car walked through the hall, passing right through them as he made sure all was well. He then dialed a number on his phone.

"Ms. Bayonetta you don't understand-"
"Pit, it's been three days since the deadline."
"Please, I just-"
"I'll accept it a few minutes, hell, maybe even an hour after the deadline but three days is ridiculous. You've had weeks to work on this-"
"A lot of stuff has been going on!"
"And in which I thought Richter was coaching you and helping you out in a way?"
"Well not like that-"
"Pit."
Oh shit.
"Please, go home. I don't have time for this. I need to make a phone call."
Pit stood for a second before walking out of the classroom. There in the hallway was Zelda and Link.
Zelda has her usual purple flannel that went down past her short-shorts this her mid-thigh, and a white tank top under it. The usual arrangement of pastel purples with a hint of white.
"Hey, Pit." Link said. "We kinda heard what happened in there."
"Yeah..." Pit could only say.
"Honestly Pit," Zelda started. "I think you should get a buddy to help you. You're obviously not the best place right now."
'Okay then...' Pit thought to himself.
Zelda left without another word, Link trailing behind her.
Before Link could walk out the door after Zelda, he quickly looked back at Pit, attempting to give him a reassuring smile.
Pit turned away, not letting himself give a response to the gesture.
He didn't want to seem selfish but he kinda thought that they were supposed to be the ones helping him. Zelda said it herself, find a buddy but Pit could've sworn that they were his friends too.
In the end, the thought felt selfish, so he brushed it aside, starting to walk out the same door that Link and Zelda went to. Before he could push the door open, he heard a loud voice coming from the parking lot.
"FUCK!"
It's Zelda.
Pit opened the door.
Zelda and Link we're halfway across the parking lot. On the other end, a car, that was speeding obviously, had rammed into another small car parked by the sidewalk. The car didn't stop, but quickly reversed out and sped past, not minding the damage on their own vehicle.
And it was clear that the car that got crashed into was Zelda's
A string of curse words escaped Zelda's mouth as she raced to the other side of the parking lot, running to her car. Her car now had a large dent on the right side of the car on the doors. Zelda cursed and cursed, stomping her foot on the ground as Link ran up to comfort her.
Pit stood at the top of the steps, watching them from afar. He wondered whether or not he should go over there and help them out somehow. But what could he do? Maybe just moral support or whatever...
He decided not to go to them.
Instead, he walked down the steps and grabbed his bike laying on the grass next to the big sign with the school's name on it. He hopped on, starting to take the route behind the school. The least he could do for them is make sure they don't see him so they don't think he doesn't care about them. That last part was now debatable.
Biking down the side of the road, he watched the clouds form overhead, hiding the sun as everything became a shade darker. He wondered where the others were. If they were meeting up somewhere and forgot about him. If that's where Zelda and Link were heading to and didn't tell him. He wondered if anyone's life was getting more fucked up. It was a legitimate question. All of them were crazy.
He slowed his pace down, every now and then seeing more cars pass him by. One car, in particular, slowed down by him. He noticed how the window was rolled down. Surprisingly, he couldn't see the drivers face from where he was. All he saw was a slender figure and a white coat. And it smelled awful.
He quickly went faster, not wanting to take his chances.
He decided to see how Richter was doing.
