Chapter 37

Arlo have already broken John's trust for the second time, and he knew that he really did messed up.

Not only did he drugged him without his knowledge, but he also ended up yelling and pinning him down when the idea of him leaving entered his mind.

John seemed a little distant after that, but when morning comes, he was warming up to Arlo again, hugging him from behind when he've just finished getting dressed.

The dark haired didn't spoke, and he just stood there, hugging Arlo, nuzzling his head on the blond's back.

Arlo only feels more guilty.

"You should be mad at me."

There was still no response from John, instead, the dark haired man have only held him tight.

The blond really didn't understand, John used to get upset over the simplest things that Arlo said, so why is he still hugging him now? Why does it seemed like he've forgiven the blond despite of what he've done?

"Tell me everything, Arlo." John said, "All of the things you've been hiding, tell them to me now."

"I won't hate you."

Although John had been hurt, he still couldn't hate the blond. He knew that Arlo had his reasons, and John just wanted to know what his reasons are.

If the blond was afraid that John would hate him, John had to assure him that he won't, no matter what it was.

"John." Arlo spoke, "If I told you... Do you promise me that you won't leave?"

"I promise."

It was a selfish request, but things are already getting worse.

Arlo received a message yesterday morning, Isen was too afraid of handing them a fake information, and the authorities are getting fed up with waiting.

Isen have mentioned about giving them the info about where John's father was buried, and he also got the hospital's footage, although he didn't showed the parts where Arlo was there. Other than that, he told them that John used to work on a nearby coffee shop, and that he have already resigned.

In other words, they concluded that John was only nearby, and that they'll be starting their search sooner.

It was why the blond had been so uneasy because, he just happened to recently drugged John, and now they're really hunting for him. He made a reservation as early as he could, and even if John have declined going to a therapist yesterday, he'll still bring him in.

And then he'll tell Isen to hand them John's current level, and Arlo would move with John on somewhere far after this.

He really had to tell John, and he was planning to tell it sooner but...

Last night, John seemed so upset, and Arlo got scared of telling him.

"Would you tell me now?"

The blond sighed, slowly removing John's arms around his waist. He faced him, trying his best to meet his golden eyes.

"The authorities..." Arlo spoke, "They've been searching for you. Isen told me that he was tasked to dig infos and... I-- I'm sorry..."

"They were supposed to get you during that night, but they weren't able to because I told you to go on my place. You were attacked before, and I figured that it was one of their attempts to get you."

John stared at him, trying to let Arlo finished first. He seemed to be surprised at what he heard, but Arlo couldn't tell if he was mad.

"They killed your father, and I got scared..."
