Quentin's POV

I stood in line as I fiddled with my fingers. The black tux I was wearing, made me a little sweaty. God I was so nervous, I could feel my temperature rise. The sound of the normal here comes the bride tune snapped me out of the trance I was in. My head turned towards the door. (Y/n) stood there in a white dress and a small veil covering her face. Her dad stood next to her, holding her arm in his. Everyone in the aisles stood up as they stared at the beautiful bride that slowly walked down. Her and her dad was making small talk and he had small tears poking at his eyes. I smiled brightly when she made eye contact with me. I could get lost in those (e/c) eyes. She smiled at me and her dad glanced at me and nodded his head. I moved my hand in a small waving motion before the groom walked over to them and grabbed (Y/n)'s hand. Of all people she couldve chose to marry,

It just had to be him.

My boss.

The one person I hated with all my being.

Tony Stark thanked her father before guiding her over to the preacher. I didnt fight her decision even though I hated it. I wanted to be the one promising to be with her for the rest of her life. I wanted to be there holding her hands and getting lost in her eyes like I always did. I blanked out on half the service and came back to reality just to watch him lift the piece of fabric over her head. He grabbed her jaw and kissed her softly and everyone cheered.

That was the moment I knew everything was done for. I couldve said something but I don't want to ruin this for her. They pulled away from each other and smiled brightly at each other. I gave a bittersweet smile to her when she looked at me. Everyone started walking out of the room and (Y/n) stayed back.

"Beck!"

She called towards me and I turned my head to look at her. Tony and his friend Rhodey walked out of the room towards the reception area.

"What's up?"

I asked walking up to her.

"Thank you for coming. I know you dont really like Tony but, really it means a lot for you to be here."

She said softly, hugging me. I slowly returned the hug.

"I mean, you want me to leave my best friend at the altar?"

She giggled at my remark and pulled away from the hug. She looked up at me slightly, because in the heels she was wearing, she was just a little bit shorter than me.

"Let's go eat then."

She smiled. I was holding myself back from just telling her how I've felt for the years I've known her, why I've hated every boyfriend shes had. I wanted to grab her and pull her closer to me and just kiss her.

"I'm starving let's do it."

Was all that came out of my mouth. My chest felt like someone just punched it. She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the reception area. I smiled and laughed at her reaction. Tony looked over at me and her and smiled. She let go of my hand and walked over to him. I smiled and walked towards the table where her father and mother were. I pulled out a chair and sat down next to her mom.

"You were almost there Beck."

Her mother whispered, just loud enough for the table to hear. I blinked and stared at the napkin-wrapped silverware.

"Almost. That'll be the death of me."

I mumbled out.
