I held my phone to my ear and listened to the three rings.

"Hey, this is Quentin Beck. I couldn't reach your call in time and I'm sorry about that. You know what to do. I'll make sure to call you back as soon as I can."

Tears slowly streamed down my cheeks as I listened to the cheery voice he had. I wiped my eyes quickly as I stared at the steering wheel in front of me.

"I know I should get rid of this...but I just want to hear your voice."

I spoke softly to keep my voice from cracking. I hung up and rubbed my eyes to keep the tears to myself. I opened the car door and walked into the building. I checked in and walked towards his room. I bit my lip as I opened the door to the hospital room. Beck laid there, cuts all over his face and medical equipment all on his body. His heartbeat was slow, which made everything so much worse. I sat down next to the bed and grabbed his hand.

"Hey, hon.."

I mumbled out, rubbing his knuckles. Tears poked at my eyes.

"Don't leave me please..just push through.."

My voice cracked slightly, tears escaping my eyes. I listened to the beeps of the heart monitor on the other side of him. They got slower and slower. My eyes widened as I heard the slow beep of the flatline. Nurses and a doctor ran into a room, one of them grabbing my arm.

"Ma'am, it's best you leave.."

She mumbled to me.

"N-No! Beck, please don't go!"

I cried out, letting the tears fall down my face. She sighed softly as she pulled me away from the room.

"Please don't take my sunshine! Please!"
