purple mark

The birds, they flew around her,

The flowers all still bloomed

But the need to leave this planet

Grew stronger as her father fumed

He yelled about her size

And how shed never be much

The veins in his forehead swelled

And he pulled his hand back and he struck

The purple mark grew bigger

Her best friend wanted to know why

'I slipped and fell down the stairs'

She couldn't help but lie.

And then one day just like the first

And many more to come

The poor young girl had had enough

Decided she was done.
