When Nikki enters her house, she hears voices coming from the kitchen.

"I think she's back." A female voice says.

"She's gonna freak!" Another female voice says.

Nikki walks into the kitchen for a glass of water.

"Surprise Shortie!" Riley yells when she sees her.

Nikki silently walks towards the refrigerator for a bottle of water, she drinks half of it while her mum and sister look at each other, confused.

"Oh, hey." Nikki finally says after she throws the bottle in the bin. She didn't even glance at Riley as she walks out of the kitchen and into her bedroom.

"She's probably just tired," Mrs. Olvera says, unconvincingly.

A few hours later, Riley opens the door of Nikki's bedroom just enough for her head to pass.

"Shortie?" She calls out but is answered with silence. She walks in to find Nikki laying on her bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Hey, Shortie, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just had a little fight with Dawn," Nikki mumbles.

"That's why you're bumped out?"

"No, I'm bumped out because I just found out that carrots are vegetables not fruits," she says sarcastically, sitting up.

"Okay, I asked a dumb question and totally deserve that." Riley sits on the edge of Nikki's bed.

"You deserve worse," Nikki says under her breath.

"Do you want to talk about what happened between you and Dawn?"

"No."

"Come on."

"No." Nikki says, firmly.

"Shortie-"

"You want to know what happened? You happened, you just had to be so awesome. This is all your fault. You get all the attention and affection. For fifteen years, I lived in your shadow, the only way I could get noticed was if I did something better than you so I decided to do the opposite of what you do but it just made things worse. Now I'm the black sheep of the family while you're the golden child. I'm pretty sure Dawn wishes I was you, mom and dad probably wish they gave birth to two yous but they got stuck with me. I only do the things I do to get noticed but now I've lost my best friend. And I don't know if you've noticed but I'm not short! I'm a girl of average height so stop calling me that stupid name." She put more emphasis on the 'stupid'

".......okay, um, I'm sorry you feel that way, its my fault I'm awesome but I don't think its my fault you lost Dawn."

"Of course its your fault."

"Are you trying to say that you guys argued about how awesome I am?"

"No, she said I'm too bossy and expect everyone to do what I want instead of hearing them out."

"And is it my fault you're bossy?"

"No," Nikki sighs.

"Its okay, you still have a chance to get Dawn back, you guys have been friends for years, there's no way she won't forgive you if you apologize."

"...you're right."

"Aren't I always?" Riley flips her long and silky hair over her shoulder. See the resemblance?

Nikki rolls her eyes, "I'm gonna apologize to Dawn immediately I see her tomorrow."

"Dawn." Nikki says when she sees Dawn peeping through the small spaces between the door and wall. Dawn doesn't acknowledge her presence.

"I...I'm sorry."

Dawn slowly turns to look at Nikki with a surprised look on her face.

"You were right, I'm bossy. I wasn't always like that."

"I know, I've known you for like ever. I was at your naming ceremony."

"I'm pretty sure you weren't born then."

"What I'm trying to say is I know you inside and out."

"Eww, you've been inside me?"

"You're such an idiot," Dawn laughs.

"That's why we're the perfect match for each other."

"I thought we were but-"

Nikki gasps. "Are you....breaking up with me?"

"We were never meant to be."

"But Dawn, I love you, please don't leave me."

"I'm sorry Nikki but I just can't do this anymore, I don't love you."

"How can you say that? After all I've done for you, I gave you everything, you were inside me," Nikki says with some much pain.

"Eww, stop saying that and I think we should see other people."

"You know that no one will ever be able to replace you and you know that no one will ever be able to replace me. We were made for each other."

Dawn looks away, "oh, you're right, I can't suppress these feelings I have for you anymore."

They run each other's arms. "And scene."

They both laugh as they pull away.

"That was so soap opera," Dawn says.

"I know. But are we back together, for real?"

"You know it."

"Hey, girls," Laura says, putting a hand on Nikki's shoulder, "having another showdown?"

"Get that disgusting twig you call a hand off my shoulder before I break it off and shove it up your ass," Nikki says in a low but sinister voice.

"Hey, I thought you were on my side."

"Your side?" Nikki turns around dramatically to face Laura, her hair hitting Dawn's face in the process. "I'd rather get stuck in a cliche romantic movie than be on the same side as you, now get lost."

"I think you guys should run," Dawn says. Laura and Mackenzie exchange confused looks but don't move until Nikki takes just one step forward. They take off down the hallway, screaming.

"I love the sound of Laura screaming," Dawn laughs, "its like music to my ears."

"Hey, where's Rachel?"

"Flirting with Mr. Wayne."

"You guys are really doing this mission without me?" Nikki sounded hurt.

"You didn't want to do it."

"I do now, I want to help."

Just then, Rachel rushes out of Mr. Wayne's classroom. "How'd it go?" Dawn asks Rachel excitedly.

"It went horrible, you were supposed to tell me what to say." Rachel angrily removes the wireless earpiece from her ear which was hidden by her hair, "we were doing great until you started talking about a naming ceremony and being inside of him."

"I said 'I know you inside and out'"

"What's the difference?"

"Uh, never mind."
