"Rachel? What are you still doing here?"Mr. Wayne asks when he sees Rachel standing at the entrance of the school building alone. All the students have already left, except for her, Nikki and Dawn who are hiding in the bushes, watching everything
"I-uh......"Rachel looks at the shrub where Nikki and Dawn are hiding which is behind Mr. Wayne. They give her signs to go on but hide as soon as Mr. Wayne turns around to see what Rachel is staring at
"Is something wrong?"he asks, obviously concerned. "No! I mean, yes.....my brother ditched me"Rachel says, trying to remember everything Nikki and Dawn told her to say, "so I'm just going to walk home"
"Okay, have a nice walk"he says and resumes walking
"Wait! Uh, there's a problem. I'm scared to go home on my own. I've never gone anywhere on my own before, what if I get kidnapped?"
"I doubt that will happen but if will make you feel safer, I can walk you home"
"Yes!"Rachel squeals then realizes that she can being weird, "I'm just so excited, I've never walked home before"she explains when she sees him giving her a weird look
"Well, there's a first time for everything"
Rachel purposely walks slowly so that their trip won't be too short and Nikki and Dawn watched them from the other side of the street, pretending to be taking a stroll
When they finally get to Rachel's house, they hide behind a tree and watch
"So, this is um, my house"Rachel says awkwardly, not knowing what to do next. "Its nice"
"Thanks."
They stare at each other. "And thanks for walking me home, see you tomorrow," she says and quickly enters her house.
"What's she doing? that's not part of the plan," Nikki says.
When Mr. Wayne leaves, Nikki and Dawn come out from their hiding spot and into Rachel's house. Quincy and his obnoxiously loud friends are playing spin the bottle.
"So childish," Dawn comments, glaring at Quincy. Nikki doesn't say anything as they walk to Rachel's room where Rachel is at her desk, doing homework.
"Hey guys," she says cheerfully when she notices them.
"I thought you would be sad that you didn't get your kiss," Nikki says.
"That was my fault. I had the perfect chance to do it but I didn't because I realized that we have no chemistry."
"Don't you mean no biology?" Dawn laughed at her dry joke, "get it? He teaches biology so- oh, forget it."
"As I was saying, we're not compatible. While we were walking, everything was so awkward. It felt like hours before I got home. I'm sooo over him."
"Good for you I guess," Nikki sighs, "boys are stupid but I just can't get over Quincy."
"I feel you," Dawn put a comforting hand on Nikki's shoulder which Nikki shrugs off.
"Lets just get out of here," she says, already walking towards the door.
When they go downstairs, Quincy and his friends are still playing spin the bottle. Nikki, Dawn and Rachel grimace when a girl spins the bottle and it points at a chubby dude with ketchup stains on his mouth and shirt.
"Eww."
"Gross."
"I think I'm gonna hurl."
The girls comment and look away when the guy and girl kiss, it made sloppy and gross sounds. The girl tries to pull away but the guy holds on to her until she pinches him hard.
"That was so...it....I can't unsee it." Shawn said, shaking his head as if it'll make the memory go away.
"Come on guys, let's go," Nikki says
"Quincy, its your turn."
Nikki immediately stops, "I want to see who he kisses." She explains.
Quincy spins the bottle and it stops, pointing in between two guys. "Not me!" They both say, not wanting Quincy to kiss them.
"I got this," Mike says, he's at the opposite end of the bottle and looks in the direction the bottle is pointing at.
"Its that girl over there," he says, pointing at Nikki. Nikki realizes that the bottle is actually pointing at her through the little space in between the two guys.
"Okay, let's do this," Quincy says, walking over to Nikki while she just stares at him, her mouth agape. He leans in without hesitation and she responds almost immediately. After a few seconds, he pulls away and goes back to take his seat while his friends cheer him on.
Nikki stands there, frozen but Dawn was able to drag her out of there. Immediately they were out on the porch, the three girls squeal and jump up and down excitedly
