Chapter Twenty

Zander had asked me out again. Of course I had to say yes. He did it two days after he broke up with Andrew. The first week of us dating again was about as good as it gets. April was coming to a close and finals were aproching.

"I'm going to fail finals." Said Zander when he walked back in the dorm after classes.

"Don't worry you'll do fine." I smiled, "We should have a party right before finals with everyone, since next year Lexie will be in Russia." I said. Lexie had decided an associates degree in Russian was good enough and she was going to move in with her pen-pal at the end of August.

"I know." Zander sighed, "I'll miss her." He said.

"Me too." I said looking at him.

"Let's ask Landon if we can have a party at his house." He suggested. "I'll call him." He said grabbing his phone and walking out into the hall to talk to Landon.

I closed my notebook and looked outside where the rain was drizzling. I laid down and closed my eyes.

Zander let me sleep until six. He shook me to wake me up. "Come on it's time to go to Landon's." He said smiling.

"Huh, what?" I asked rubbing my eyes and sitting up.

"Hurry Lexie is waiting to drive us!" He said laughing as he pulled me out of bed and handed me my jacket. I slipped it on and then we ran out through the rain to Lexie's car.

"You woke up!" Said Lexie as she started driving. I nodded and yawned.

"He slept for a long time." Said Zander smiling at me.

I laid my head on Zander's shoulder, "I wish I was still sleeping." I said closing my eyes. Zander kissed my forehead.

I listened to the rain hit the roof of the car as we slowed down in front of Landon's house. "It's time to wake up again." Whispered Zander to me.

I sighed as we walked up to to Landon's front door and knocked. "Why are you so tired anyways?" Asked Lexie.

"I've been studying for finals." I said yawning as Landon answered the door.

"Come in!" He said smiling as he let us in. His house was different since last time I had been there.

"Hey guys." Said Asher smiling from his spot on the couch. We all sat down and Landon handed us all hot chocolate.

"A little late for this." Commented Lexie.

"It's never to late for hot chocolate." Said Landon laughing as he sipped some.

"Summer plans?" Asked Asher sitting up.

"Nope." Said Zander glancing at me.

"Maybe visiting my parents." I shrugged.

"Well I think you guys should come to Utah with me and Asher." Said Landon smiling. "I have a house in the mountains and my parents have a boat."

"I think it would be fun, kinda like a going away thing with my best friends!" Said Lexie smiling.

"Yeah! It would be fun." I agreed smiling. The relaxing thought of being on a boat soothed me.

"Fine then it's settled." Said Landon laughing, "Summer in the mountains on the lake." He said.

Lexie's phone rang. "It's Filipp," she said, "I should probably take this. Do you mind?" We shook our heads and Lexie greeted him in Russian then walked out on the porch.

"Filipp is her Russian love?" Asked Landon.

"Yeah. She finally made a call to him one day." Zander laughed. "She was so happy." He said.

"That's good." Said Landon smiling.

"When is your birthday Alex?" Asked Asher.

"August first." I said smiling, "Why?"

"I just didn't know it." He laughed, "Shouldn't you be in our grade?"

"My parents held me back." I said.

"Makes sense." Said Landon smiling. "You would've been the youngest."

"Yeah." I said, I didn't like the fact that I was held back because I was too young.

Lexie burst through the door. "Filipp proposed to me!" She said happily. "He said even though he hasn't met me he's gotten to know me through letters and has a ring for me that he mailed, in an assumption I would say yes! And I did!" She beamed.

"Oh my god! Congratulations!" Said Zander jumping up and hugging her tightly.

The night was filled with congratulations and talk about weddings. We didn't even think about finals or anything else. For that one night we weren't stressed out.
