The next day, Lorie sat at the cafeteria table where sits with a few kids. David offered her to sit with them but they're so rowdy, she passed.
She took a sip of her orange juice before eating the rest of her chicken and waffles. It was the only thing the chefs made decent.
She felt her shoulder being tapped on and turn around to see Nedra.
She has been thinking about her. It's a surprise to see her without her friends."Hey girl, I've been waiting for you!"
Lorie smiled as she patted a seat next to her.Nedra look at the seat then at the kids she was sitting with.
"I'm good but I need to talk to you."
She plastered the same smile she had yesterday.Lorie frowned as she turn fully around on her stool.
"What's wrong?"Nedra bend down.
"It needs to be private."
She insisted in a whisper.Lorie went in the bathroom before Nedra did. She didn't know what was about to happen but waited until she explained.
She got a feeling it's about yesterday."Ok, so you remember yesterday while I was hanging with my friends?"
Nedra starts.Lorie nodded her head.
"I am sorry but I just can't hang with you."
Nedra told her.Lorie's heart dropped in her stomach as she stared at her with her mouth open. It felt like someone told her something she wish she didn't hear.
"I-"
"I know, you wanted me to be your friend and I can't. You changed up. I don't hang with girls who dress like a grandma."
Nedra cut her off as she continue to explain, dissing her in the process.Lorie's face drenched with tears as she go in a stall and begin to cry.
She thought it was all play because they were around but after realizing it's not, she felt like a fool. But it's all her fault, she only dressed like her because she wanted to be her friend.

Almost time to go home, David slumped in his seat as he played with the pencil while Mr. Allen was discussing something that isn't interesting to him and some of the students.
He had history with his best friends who were in the back of the class, joking and flirting with girls. David didn't talk to anyone in this class. His mind was still on Lorie. It seems he couldn't stop thinking about her.
He is planning on telling her at the party on Saturday but then again, it may be too fast.
"Mr. Blake!"
He snapped out of his thoughts as he sat up correctly in his seat."Yes?"
He answered causing some of the students to snicker."Can you please sit up correctly and stop daydreaming?"
Mr. Allen asked."Yes sir, my bad."
David apologized as Mr. Allen turn back to his chalkboard."Whatever."
David muttered and rolled his eyes.
