Chapter 28

"Madara, who are these people?" I looked at him as I was able to stand up while cleaning the blood on my face with my sleeve. "What's going on here?! Why are you allowing this?!" I screamed at my uncle's face.

"Nothing, my little nephew. Plans have simply changed..." He started to say with his hands on his pockets. "I no longer have time to carter to your whims so you'll do as I say!" Madara looked at me with an evil smile and I could feel his two friends right behind me. But wait a second... Plans? Whims? What was he... Shit, he was going to do to me the exactly same thing he did to Itachi... That son of a bitch!

"You have outlived your usefulness. Like any other annoyance, you must be eliminated." The guy with glasses spoke this time, confirming my suspicions. "You've had enough time to think. Agree to leave the country or things will go badly for your friends." He threatened me and that's when it hit me. I had to go alone... I couldn't take Sakura. But I had to protect her and Naruto at all coast. Even if it meant breaking her heart and making her hate me.



Sakura's POV

It has been two hours and the party was already over. Where was Sasuke? He said it would be quick but guess he was wrong. I sighed as I looked at my phone screen. No calls and no messages from him. What was taking him so long? I got back to reality when I heard voices.

"Sakura, you need a ride?" Ino smiled happily, clearly due to the effect of the alcohol. She even needed Sai's help to walk although he seemed to be a little bit drank as well.

"Don't worry, I'm going to meet Sasuke at his house." I lied, faking a smile, looking at my blonde best friend.

"Are you sure, Sakura? You can stay here with me and Naruto, if you want... Right?" Hinata proposed, looking at her boyfriend that was with his arm around her shoulder. Besides me, she was the only one who didn't have a lot of drinks.

"Of course she can!" Naruto yelled, also drunk.

"It's fine, really." I laughed at Naruto. "Thank you though."

"Bye, guys!" Tenten bid her goodbyes with a drunk smile and left with Neji and Lee that weren't completely drunk.

"See you next time." Shikamaru said with a lazy smile, leaving with a happy Temari and a singing Choji. They were both a little drunk too.

"Bye bye, have fun you two!" Ino winked at Hinata, causing her to blush deeply and left with Sai.

"Well, do you need any help, Hinata?" I asked my lavender hair girl while she laid Naruto on the couch.

"No, thank you. Me and Naruto take care of everything in the morning." She smiled shyly as we walked to the front door. "Thank God, Jiraiya is gone for a week or else he would kill Naruto." We both laughed.

"Ok then, I should get going as well." I looked again at my phone screen just to see a message from Sasuke asking me to go meet him at his house.

"Is everything alright?" She asked with concern on her eyes.

"Yeah, Sasuke just sent me a message saying he's late." I faked a smile again although Hinata seemed not to buy but didn't insist anymore.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then." We smiled, giving a hug and then I left Naruto's house, starting to walk to Sasuke's.


I couldn't understand, what the hell was going on? What did Madara want so much? I sighed, trying to enjoy the night breeze but my thoughts didn't seem to leave the raven haired boy. I had this bad feeling that I couldn't explain and all I wanted was to be with Sasuke and understand what was actually going on. I knew he wasn't keeping any more secrets from me but still... I had to find out all I could about Madara. But not now.. I had to be optimistic and focus on our moving and my parents. However, I still had a month left.

Suddenly my mind traveled to our marriage and that ended up cheering me up. Things would definitely be better once we got married and having him everyday by my side sounded amazing. I started to daydream about Sasuke and how hot he was. God, I'm becoming so pervert. I shouldn't be thinking about these things and that's when reality hit me. I should be thinking about how my parents would react to the news. But all my thoughts were gone once I bumped into someone almost losing my balance.

"Hey! Watch where you're going, will you?!" I yelled at the person in question, noticing that I recognized him from somewhere.

"Shouldn't I be the one saying that?" The guy turned to me with a smile on his face. "Hey, what a coincidence! I suppose we're destined to crash into each other." He spoke again and that's when it hit me. It was the red haired freak from the gallery.

"You..." I started to say, still lost of words. "But you're that... That pervert from the museum!" I yelled again and luckily there wasn't anyone in the street. I didn't give him time to say anything and quickly ran away from there, trying to reach Sasuke's house as soon as possible. Once I got there, I rang the bell and next thing I knew, the guy from before was right beside me. "Why did you follow me? You could have gone another way!" I started to fight with him, with the incident on my mind.

"Hey, I didn't follow you! This was just the shortest way here!" He tried to explain himself but I didn't care. I kept ringing the bell, starting to lose my patience.

"I should expect nothing less from a pervert, am I right?" I replied to the guy, making him angry.

"Pervert?! That was just an accident! There was no reason to yell it out in the middle of the street!" He answered back, we both sending glares to each other. But suddenly the door opened, revealing Itachi which made us both look at him.

"So she's your brother's girlfriend? Poor guy, I feel for him." The red haired guy said.

"Is this guy your friend? Because if he doesn't shut up, he'll end up in the hospital." I muttered with an angry expression on my face. With this, we all got inside and Itachi closed the door.

"So, Sakura, wasn't Sasuke supposed to be with you? I thought you guys were going to Naruto's party." He explained, looking at me.

"Well, we went to the party but then his uncle sent him a message asking him to meet him. Sasuke sent me a message a couple of minutes ago asking me to come here and that he'd be waiting for me..." I said with my bad feeling growing inside me. "But looks like he hasn't come home yet..." And right when I finished my sentence, Itachi had panic all over his face.

"Sasori, you're with me! We're going to look for Sasuke!" He simply said, walking to the front door. Wait, what?

"What's going on?" Sasori asked confused with the whole situation.

"No time for questions, we have to move!" Itachi looked at both of us. "Sakura, you stay here in case Sasuke comes and try to talk to him if you see him!" I just nodded my head with his request. Why was he reacting like this? Was there something really bad that I didn't know about his uncle?
