The Choice (SasuSaku)

Chapter 8

"Shikamaru..." I said, feeling a little embarassed about getting caught with Sasuke in a moment like this.

"So, what's going on?" Sasuke asked, looking at the pinneaple haired boy that had his hands inside his pockets.

"Well, I came to let you know that Naruto got himself in trouble. Looks like Neji saw him with Hinata last night and didn't like it." Shikamaru started to explain. "Also, there are rumours that the Uzumaki and the Hyuga companies have some kind of rivalry because of some issues between their fathers which doesn't help the situation." He let out a sigh, scratching the back of his head. "Anyway, since you're his best friend, maybe you should go see it for yourself. He's fighting against Neji and it's getting pretty serious!"

"Neji? But he's the best at martial arts!" I exclaimed, starting to get very worried not only about Naruto but also Hinata. She had her long time crush and cousin involved in a fight.

"How did they come to that?!" Sasuke asked, looking surprised and concerned at the same time.

"Because of one simple reason... Hinata Hyuga." Shikamaru simply answered and after that us three ran to the outside just to be met by a huge circular crowd. Sasuke went to find Naruto and I stayed with Ino and Sai.

"Sakura!" Ino called my name as soon as she saw me.

"Ino, what's going on?!" I looked to Naruto and Neji that were looking serious at each other while they kept fighting. Neji was able to take Naruto's headband and we all knew how mad he could get because of that. It seemed that Neji was just trying to mess with him.

"So, after Sasuke texted Naruto we decided to head home and I asked Hinata if she wanted to come with me and Sai but Naruto offered himself to take her home. And this morning Hinata told me that she had a really good time with him and that he said he liked girls like her." She showed a small smile like me, both of us feeling happy for our friend. But then her expression turned serious again. "Also, from what Tenten told me, she and Neji saw Naruto and Hinata together and as you can see, Neji wasn't happy about it. I think it has to do with their family's companies and some rivalry between their fathers. Anyway, before all of this started I saw Naruto walking straight to Hinata but he suddendly he lost his balance and ended up falling on her lap. I'm sure she was screaming inside and I don't know how she didn't faint.... But moving on. Neji took the opportunity and pushed Naruto away and that's when the fight started." She finished, looking back at the two boys that seemed to be ending the fight.


Naruto and Neji were coming to each other, anger was visible in their eyes. But in the moment of the attack, the blonde boy was able to surprise us all. He didn't hit Neji, he just grabbed his handband and since he was losing his balance, Sasuke was able to catch him. Everyone started to say that Neji won but something was telling me they were wrong.

"I did it!" Naruto spoke, showing a very happy smile while Sasuke sat him down. "In the end, it looks like he's not as fast as the think!" He added and that got us really confused until Neji fell on the ground. And that meant... That Naruto won. "Looks like you're not as good at martial arts as they say! Maybe you should train more." The blonde was already up, holding his handband tighly. "Now, listen closely... I'm not going to let you talk about my family anymore and like it or not, Hinata's going to keep hanging out with me." He explained, looking very serious at the Hyuga boy and put his handband. "Unless you'd like another beating, which I'd be happy to give!" And here it was, the knucklehead boy at his best.

"Naruto! You're getting in trouble again, aren't you?!" A stern voice spoke and I could recognize it as Tsunade, the principal. "On my office now!" Naruto tried to protest about it but Tsunade didn't give up.

"Let's go, Naruto." Iruka Sensei said as he put a hand on Naruto's shoulder and started guiding him to the office. "Listen to Principal Tsunade."

"Iruka Sensei, I swear it wasn't my fault!" Naruto said, looking down. Poor Naruto, he didn't do anything wrong, he only stood up for himself and defended his family. I wished Iruka Sensei could really help him.
