Viktor and I had an agreement to forget about his proposed 'plan' until I was back in England, so I could enjoy my experience giving him an interview with the TV crew. The time for the interview was confirmed to be Saturday morning, before the big game on Sunday.
When Saturday morning came, Viktor drove me to a tall building in the centre of Copenhagen, which he said was where all the big football interviews and TV stuff happen in Denmark. I was quite scared at first, but Viktor put me at ease.
"You'll be fine! You've prepared some questions for me, right?" He asked.
"Yeah, I've written about 6 questions down."
"Fedt! Let's go in, then." He then lead me into the reception of the building, which he claimed he had been into loads of times before. A tall man with long black hair saw Viktor and came over to us.
"Hi, Viktor! This must be Robyn?" He then turned to me, offering his hand for a handshake.
"Yes, I'm Robyn." I replied, shaking his hand.
"My name is Martin, and I'm going to show you around for a little bit." He then pointed over towards some chairs, where a young girl and boy were sitting together on their phones. "Those two over there are junior reporters from different places in Denmark. They're really good, so they've got an apprenticeship with us here. Maybe that could be you." He smiled.
"Should I introduce myself to them?" I asked.
"Yeah, of course! They're really nice, they should welcome you in for today."I then walked over nervously towards them.
"Umm- Hi." I stuttered, "I'm Robyn, the girl interviewing Viktor today." They both looked up, with friendly faces.
"Hi, Robyn." The girl said, "I'm Grace."
"Hi, I'm Mads." The boy replied, smiling. "We've heard a lot about you!"
"Oh, really?" I answered, "I've heard a lot about you two, too."
Grace smiled, and gestured towards me to sit next to her. "They don't start the interviews for another 20 minutes, so do you want to get to know eachother better?" I looked across towards Viktor, who was smiling watching me. I gave him a thumbs up to let him know I was okay, and he did the same and then walked away into another room with Martin.
"Where's Viktor going?" I asked.
"They always put the players into a different room," Mads answered, "it's just what they do."
"Oh, okay."
Grace then put down her phone, and began talking to me. "So, you're the Robyn we've heard so much about.. what brings you here?"
"Well," I replied, "I was asked to interview Viktor before tomorrow's game. I originally came over here to watch Viktor play in a match, but I guess it turned out to be a lot more than that!"
Grace smiled. "Wow, so you're pretty close to Viktor?" I could see she was very interested.
"Umm, yes. I guess you could say that. He's a pretty amazing person."
"Oh yeah I get that, I'm a huge fan of him too! I'm originally from Jylland, and when Viktor played near where I live I just had to go and see him! He was so lovely an-"
"Oh, this story again?" Mads teased, poking Grace in the arm.
"It's a good story!" Grace replied, poking him back. "Excuse Mads, he's my little cousin. And a very annoying one at that."
"Um, 'little' cousin? You're only 6 months older than me, and we're both 17!"
Grace smiled back at me, and said "I always know how to tease him back."
I could see Mads had now put down his phone, and looked interested in me. He had short and wavy brown hair, and couldn't seem to stop fiddling with it."So, how old are you, Robyn?" He asked.
"I'm 18 now," I answered, "but I'm 19 pretty soon."
"Oh, really?" Said Grace, "I could have sworn you were younger!"
I laughed, "I guess I must look young for my age, but trust me when I say I'm 18!"
"I could tell." Mads answered, "you sound pretty mature."
"And how would you know what mature sounds like?" Grace interrupted, poking Mads in the stomach this time.
"I guess you two like teasing eachother." I said, quite amused.
"There's not much fun where we live in Døstrup, so I guess we've got to make our own fun," Mads replied.
"Yeah, but there is at least one good thing!" Grace said, undoing the zip on her jacket, revealing a yellow football shirt underneath. "Hobro IK!"
I smiled. "Is that your favourite team?"
"Of course! I'm interviewing Pål Alexander Kirkevold today. He's our striker."
"And a really bad one." Mads interrupted, revealing a red-and-white shirt underneath his jacket. "Kasper Kusk is clearly better. And Aalborg too."
Grace playfully punched him in the arm. "Don't listen to him, Aalborg are the worst team in the league."
"After Hobro." Mads replied, standing up. "It's time to do the interviews now, anyway. I think Viktor is looking for you." He then pointed towards some black doors, where Viktor was poking his head out.
"Oh, I guess I'd better go!" I said, walking away from them. "See you after?"
"Yeah, sure!" Grace shouted after me, waving. "We'll have to exchange numbers!"
"Of course." I replied, walking up to Viktor.
"Are you ready?" He asked, smiling.
"Selvfølgelig."
