"Okay now this just got weird... Grace, I've got to go, I'll call you back later." I then put the phone down, and tapped Viktor on the arm to make sure he was awake.
"Yeah... I'm awake... who's at the door?"
"That weird girl that Grace was talking about, she's looking for me! And now she's here!" I began to panic. "Should I open the door?"
"So she's here right now? At the door?"
"Yes, that's what I've just said! Should I open it?"
"No way, we don't know who she is."
"But what if s-"
There was another knock at the door, but this time it was louder.
"Viktor, I'm scared now..."
"Okay... let me open the door. She's not gonna go away, is she..." He then put some shorts on and walked with me to the front door. "Who are you?" He said to the door.
"Robyn... Robyn..." the girl answered.
"Well, I guess we've got no option but to answer the door." I said, gesturing for Viktor to let her in, which he did.Viktor opened the door and told the girl to come inside, which she did. She had long, dark hair that covered most of her face, and looked dishevelled just as Grace had described. It was if she had travelled a long way and never stopped...
As soon as she saw me standing behind Viktor, she ran towards me and gave me a huge hug. "Robyn!" She shouted, "Maddison!"
"Um... hi?" I replied, letting her have a hug. "Who are you?" The girl looked at me with a really confused yet apologetic expression, as if she really wanted to interact, but she was unable to.
"Well this is great, she can't tell us what she wants! What's the point of his?" Viktor exclaimed.
"There's got to be some way... surely she speaks some language!" I replied, grabbing my phone. I put the google translate app on my phone, and gave it to the girl. "Here, type!" Yet again, the girl looked puzzled at the screen. She then shrugged her shoulders, and managed to say the words "no English..."
"This is brilliant... she's illiterate as well as unable to speak." Viktor sighed. "This whole thing is such a waste of time."
"Wait a minute..." I felt as though I was having a lightbulb moment. "Maybe she's not illiterate..."
"What are you talking about? She can't even type what sh-"
"It's because it's the wrong alphabet, Viktor!" I said, and then turned to face the girl again. "Kak tvoye imya?"
The girl's face lit up.
"Menya zovut Lara!" She replied, appearing to be much more comfortable.
"Um, what did you just do?" Viktor stared in amazement.
"She's Russian, Viktor! She can't type because Russian has a different alphabet. I just asked her name, and she said she's called Lara. That's pretty much all I know though, so I'll reset google translate to do the rest."
Viktor's confusion then turned into happiness.
"How are you so good at everything..."The girl then typed in everything she wanted to say into google translate, and Viktor and I read the slightly dodgy translation.
I'm so happy that I finally found you! I'm Lara Malinovsky, and I have escaped from Russia. This might sound very strange, but it's all true. We share the same mother. You escaped her, but I couldn't. We are non-identical twins, and you were born first. Someone came and took you away after you were born, but nobody came back for me. I lived with our mother for many years, but I was able to finally get away. I need your help sister, please.
Lara then moved her hair away from her face, and the resemblance was uncanny. So much so that there was no doubt in my mind that she was my sister.
