With one swift movement of her wrist, she did not press the button but sliced at it with the ax, totally making a complete line through the button.
X shrieked and fell forward, reaching for Qwen. Instead of letting him hit her, she moved to the side and jumped up, slicing Cross' bubble and dodging a blow from X.
She knew his tactic, having fought him so many times. And if she is able to get all of her friends out of those bubbles, then they can escape... And be safe.
She never was told that she was safe, having no one to guide her, and no one to call family. She was always on guard, so this was not a surprise.
She ran behind him, and her heart clenched when she heard the two words that might break her soul. "KILL HIM!" X yelled, anger visible on his face.
Qwen rushed forward, trying to cut the bubble Dust was in so he could escape, but she was too late.
One second is all it takes for someone to die, to miss a car crash...
Qwen was one second too late to save Dust, who was impaled with a knife by C5...
Time seemed to freeze for her, knowing that another one of her friends was dead...
He slowly faded to dust, smiling sadly at her.
He was in pain, sure, but the pain of seeing Qwen one last time, in the middle of a battle, not the Qwen he remembered...
That was the thing that really killed him.
All that was left was a strand of the scarf, something he took everywhere to remember his Papyrus...
C5 watched Qwen pick the strand up, it flowing in the soft wind. She did not attack her, knowing that if X didn't want her dead, she would suffer the consequences.
Qwen put the strand of the scarf in her pocket and turned to C5, anger visible on her face. X killed Horror, she killed Dust...
They were going to pay.
Qwen launched forward, the long metal knives already formed and ready to kill. C5 blocked a stab from her and punched her in the face, a smirk visible on her face.
Qwen was thrown back, and when her feet hit the ground, her left eye, which was covered by a thin layer of metal, started glowing a bright blue.
Her eye, since she's been with X, has changed from the Star that she had gotten used to, to a grey pupil, used to be devoid of emotion.
Now, that greyness started to glow, and the roundness became corners...
It was a star.
The other eye was still glowing, but this time, there was anger.
A wave of blinding anger was filling her body at an incredible speed, seeping into her wires and veins, circuits and blood...
It filled her brain, her lungs until she could only focus on one thing...
Killing C5.
Qwen launched forward, stabbing the other in the shoulder and getting a shriek from her. She could feel X's gaze on her...
An idea came to mind...
She jumped out of the way of an attack, and glanced over at X, who's face was contorted in a face of fear, dread even.
Nightmare was wildly pointing with his hands and tentacles to Killer, who's lightless eye was glowing a bright silver.
For the first time in her memory, she could see the eye light in his eye.
And she knew what to do.
Avoiding another stab from C5, she launched forward and dragged the blade across the bubble, immediately shattering the glass-like magic. X's face was priceless, and she could have laughed at it, in any other circumstance.
When Killer landed on the floor, he immediately snatched the ax, which was dropped on the ground, and growled.
Killer's black-tear-like substance was slightly shining in the faint light, and Qwen said, "go."
Killer didn't have to be told twice, and he launched forward, holding the ax that used to belong to Horror.
He and C5 clashed weapons, a bright spark filling the air.
Qwen turned back to X, who's glare was so harsh she almost shivered. He knew that he couldn't reset the world, having Cross not being able to help him, not Qwen. The OVERWRITE was dead, so he only had one choice.
Kill Qwen.
Dream, Ink and Blue ran out, pausing to see what this mess created. Ink's eyes fell on X, and he frowned. Blue took a step back, trying to run away. Dream's breath hitched, seeing his brother and Error still trapped in the bubbles, and the ax Killer held.
he couldn't feel Horror's and Dust's presence, and he held a hand over his mouth at the realization that hit his face.
Ink looked at X, and then Qwen. "We need to help her!" He exclaimed, grabbing his brush and launching forward, hitting the bubble with all his might, trying to break Nightmare out.
Everyone heard the loud CRACK that sounded through the air, and Killer and C5 paused for a millisecond to see what was happening before Killer started fighting again.
Ink fall backward, hitting the ground with an oof, his broken brush falling next to him. He shakily picked it up, tears falling down his face.
his brush, the thin he used to protect the multiverse, was broken...
Dream rushed up to his friend and looked at the bubble, which had no mark on it. Nightmare was leaning against the edge, eyes wide.
Everyone realized that this might mean something more important than emotions, or siblingly battles...
They were in danger...
And they needed to find a way out.
