~*~

Long ago, in a separate timeline, Angels and Demons lived together in harmony. Angels took care of the air and water, while the Demons took care of the earth and fire. One day, a feud broke out between two different members of the Angels and Demons, starting a war and breaking the two kingdoms apart. Nowadays, the Angel Kingdom has kept separate from the Demon Kingdom, taking refuge in the sky above water, where Demons could not get to them. The Demon Kingdom went underground, building a society where everyone treated each other as inferior to one another, creating rebellions to get back to the overworld and back to the peace they had.

The present-day kingdoms have new heirs, still separate. The Angel Kingdom has two heirs, Roman and Patton Wing, being princes to the throne. Patton is the older out of the two and is next in line for the crown. Roman has never liked that he was the second birth, residing to being in the guard instead, being given a leadership role instead of fighting. Roman doesn't like that either and wanted to sneak out of the castle to go to the ground, having to fly for about half an hour to get to land.

The Demon Kingdom also has two heirs, Virgil, and Logan Horn, easily having Logan take over the throne, due to Virgil forfeiting the crown, being older than Logan. Virgil was immediately shunned by his father for not wanting to take the throne, but, it wasn't the first time in the Demon Kingdom that someone has done this. Virgil had an anxiety disorder that tended to get the best of him, so, Logan did the most logical thing, and offered Virgil an idea to pass on the crown to himself. When Logan was born, he accepted the fact that he was the second born, and was content with Virgil having the crown. Virgil immediately agreed, knowing that in less than four months, many Demon in the Elites class would be brought in, being allowed to enter the Royal class by wedding with the next heir to the throne.

Virgil sighed, staring out his window, looking over the underground. He felt antsy, more antsy than usual, and wanted to get out of the underground. Ever since the Great Rebellion, they have put access to the overworld, keeping the royal family underground to prevent potential attacks from the Angel Kingdom. Virgil locked his bedroom door and opened his window, flying out to get to the access chamber to get to the overworld. His father didn't care for him anymore, but, it's better to take precautions to not get yelled at by his father, which happens quite often already. Virgil waved at Terrance, a guard of the access chamber, putting a finger up to his lips to keep it a secret. Terrance and Virgil were best friends since diapers, Terrance becoming the head of the guard, always staying at the access point when he wasn't around the royals. Virgil flew up the access chamber, landing on the soft grass outside of the pipes. He took a deep breath of fresh air in, relaxing a bit at the chirping and swaying of trees.

Virgil flew up to the treetops, getting a bit away from the access chamber. A single rule was placed for the access chamber, and that was to not be around the access chamber unless if you are entering or exiting the pipes. Villages form the Demon Kingdom are placed ten to thousands of miles away from the pipe system, ensuring the safety of the kingdom from the Angels. Virgil flew up into the sky, twirling around, his black feathered wings spreading to the full span of 16 feet from the left to the right-wing. Logan was always fascinated with how large Virgil's wings were, being a recessive trait amongst the Demons nowadays. Large wings were more common in the overworld, but not underground, needing smaller wings to conserve space. Virgil watched the sky below him, flapping his wings to stay in the clouds. He never liked the fact that the Angels and Demons were separated, but, history is history, and he can't change that anymore. He forfeited his right to the crown and is content with his decision.
