Cat Society AU!
Virgil walked along the top of the fence posts, purple eyes looking over the city. A pair of black ears and a tail twitching, catching the breeze through his fur. He huffed, watching a orange and white cat jump up to his post, red eyes gleaming with joy. The white cat purred, saying, "Virgil! I found some mice and killed them for dinner, would you like some?" Virgil smirked, licking his chops, and replied, "Were they the field mice, Roman? They were taunting you the other day." Roman pouted, as much as a cat could, and shook his head, quietly saying 'no', even though Virgil knew well it was a lie.
Roman batted at a loose string on his red scarf, sitting on the fence post, asking, "So, are you going to come to eat or what?" Virgil hummed, dropping down from the fence, collar jingling with the accessories on them, which included a bell, a lightning bolt symbol, and a black name tag that has his name on it. Roman followed suit, jingling in his way. He had a bell and a name tag that was Disney themed. Virgil saw Logan and Patton talking with each other, while Remus was chasing Deceit around, rambling on about how he wanted to kill Deceit's pet snake and eat it.
Virgil rolled his eyes, picking one of the several mice to eat, ripping into the fur with his sharp teeth. Roman watched, fluffy tail swaying side to side. "Hey, we should be heading back now, Thomas is going to worry if we're not back soon," Patton, the black and white American Curl with ice blue eyes, commented, catching everyone's attention. Everyone nodded and started going to Thomas' house, conversing with one another.
Virgil purred quietly when he entered the house first, being picked up by Thomas first. "Hey Virge, how are you doing today? Your new pills came in today," Virgil's purring stopped a little, frowning a little, or, well, as much as a cat could, listening back into Thomas, "and, I was hoping I could get you started today. Come on bud, let's go make you feel better." Virgil, in his cat form, was diagnosed with high anxiety and PTSD and the doctor prescribed him a form of anxiety medicine but for cats to ease everything, including his PTSD.
Thomas sat on the floor, pill in hand, Virgil put firmly under his arm and hugging the cat to his body. Thomas put his finger with the pill near Virgil's mouth and pried his jaw open, shoving the pill into Virgil's mouth and petting his throat to make him swallow the pill. "There we go, good boy, such a good kitty. Go on and play, I'll start making dinner," Thomas murmured, letting Virgil go, in which he ran away, fast. Roman was in the hallway waiting for Virgil, as usual. Whenever Virgil got his pill, Roman would walk Virgil up to Thomas' bedroom and hang out with him for a little bit, whether it be a cat nap, or, they shape-shift into their human form and cuddle. Either way, it was a sort of cuddling that Roman was content with doing with Virgil.
Virgil purred softly when he spotted Roman, bumping heads with him. Roman meowed and followed Virgil to Thomas' room, hopping up onto the bed. Virgil curled into a ball in the middle of the bed, his fluffy tail laying over his muzzle, purple eyes glaring at Roman, an unspoken challenge being called upon. Roman raised a brow, watching as Virgil slowly got up onto his haunches, wiggling his butt with his tail in the air. Roman slowly followed the same position, grinning, as much as a cat can, pouncing onto Virgil, who, in turn, jumped away to dodge Roman, running away and off of the bed.
Roman growled and ran after Virgil, bells jingling and metal clanging against each other as they ran in circles in Thomas' room. Roman pounced at Virgil, effectively pinning him to the ground, both parties panting heavily. Roman stared down at Virgil, calming his breathing. Virgil had his eyes closed, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. Roman nervously leaned down and licked the front of Virgil's muzzle, causing the chocolate furred cat's eyes to shoot open, staring up at the calico in shock.
Roman got off of Virgil nervously, poofing into his human form, wearing a white T-shirt and orange-reddish shorts, a pair of orange ears flattened against his head and his tail curled against him. Roman fiddled with his handkerchief around his neck, hiding his collar and tags. Virgil also poofed into his human form, instead in a black and purple jacket, a black tee and black leggings. Virgil's black ears were also against his head, buy, his tail was swaying slightly in interest and hope.
Virgil's collar jingled softly as he slowly crawled towards Roman, sitting directly in front of him. "Roman?" Virgil asked softly, trying to gain his attention. Roman looked up towards Virgil, but, averted his eyes to not look in his eyes. "Look at me, Roman, please?" Virgil placed his hands on Roman's cheeks, holding his head in place, red eyes finally meeting purple ones. Virgil leaned in towards Roman, stopping a bit short from his face, about 2 inches apart, giving Roman room to deny the kiss or go for it.
Roman's ears were now at full attention, his tail swaying softly, leaning forward, taking Virgil's hands into his own. His own lips met with Virgil's, causing his eyes to flutter shut along with Virgil's, both content with the fact that Roman had wordlessly said that he liked Virgil. Virgil pulled away after a bit, blinking rapidly to know that he wasn't dreaming. Virgil smiled softly, and whispered, "I love you, Ro." Roman grinned and pressed their foreheads together, whispering back, "I love you too, Virge."
