Human Au! With Winged! Roman and Winged! Virgil

Virgil sat on a thick tree branch outside of his home, wishing that his family could just shut up for once. You see, he lives with six other people: Roman, Logan, Patton, Damien (but he prefers Deceit), Remus, and Thomas. They all pay the rent and bills respectively, but they all argue over different subjects all at different times of the day. Virgil is not excluded out of this, seeing as how he fights with Deceit and Remus all the time, but prefers to stay on the sidelines and wait for the waters to still.

Virgil sighed softly to himself, unfolding his horned owl wings, stretching them to the six-foot and seven inches span from the tip of the wing to his shoulder blades. Why the specific number, you ask? Logan was very curious as to see who had the larger wingspan since all of them had wings, but Virgil was competing heavily with Roman, who had won by a quarter inch in that contest. Honestly, Virgil could care less. Roman's red Cardinal wings stood out like a sore thumb, but suited him very nicely, compared to his twin brother's yellow Cardinal wings that had smudges of brown throughout the feathers.

Patton, on the other hand, had the second shortest wingspan, with Logan who had the shortest, having Hummingbird wings and all. Patton's Mountain Bluebird wings were a nice shade of ice blue, reaching out to his fingertips whenever he stretched them out, which is better suited for him since he had random bursts of energy and his wings always tended to fly out first. Deceit never really liked his wings, even though they are gorgeous. Deceit was third in line for having the largest wingspan, almost at six foot. Deceits wings are based off of the yellow warbler, having black feathers at the tips and bright yellow feathers to his shoulder blades. Deceit never really liked standing out, but, of course, his yellow wings were always a conversation starter whenever he met strangers, always saying the same thing: 'They're too flashy for me, I'd rather have your wings.'

Thomas is in the middle with Remus, having Speckled Tanager wings that were bright greens and blues, just like a peacock. He washed them daily because of how oily his feathers get, but never really try to deck them out with wing jewelry, based on Roman's requests, who deck his wings with gold wing jewelry.

Virgil shook his head as his mind wandered, looking up into the sky determined. He got up into a crouching position and jumped off of the branch, his wings flying out in reflex, making him drift higher into the sky. He took a deep breath of the fresh air, smiling softly at the familiar sensation of being free. Virgil never really got alone time, seeing as how he is taking classes in college for his art major and has a part-time job at a small cafe in the town.

Virgil started to drift, not caring where he went. He has his phone on him, so if the others need him, they can call.

Currently, Roman is in his room, fiddling with a few buttons on a costume that he had to wear during a voluntary play that is supposed to raise money for cancer patients at the local hospital in town. Last year when Roman volunteered, they played with Hamlet and fused it to be a sort of music to entertain the patients, but this year, Roman's idea of doing a Disney musical, The Little Mermaid to be exact, was pitched. Roman, of course, is cast as Eric, the prince, and has to wear a wig to encompass the black hair and contacts for the blue eyes. And, like all other actors, had to hide his wings, which was almost impossible.

Almost.

How he did it, was a total mystery. And to make the back look flat? Also a total mystery, that no one has figured out, because a magician never tells his secrets.

Roman shuffled in his room, his wings starting to get a bit antsy. He indeed has ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder), meaning that he will start losing his attention in the activity that he is currently doing. Which kind of told Roman that he needed a break to grasp his bearings and get back to stitching up his costume after his break is over. Roman sighed softly to himself, and looked in the mirror, fixing his hair before leaving the room.

Roman smiled and waved at Patton, telling him that he would be on a walk for a while, and if he needed anything, call him. Whenever Roman says 'walk', he means taking an hour-long flight across the city, find anything new or interesting in the small town that he lived in. Roman hummed as he packed a small satchel with his sewing needles and theater outfit, along with a pad of paper, a pencil, wallet, and his phone and a charging battery. He never left the house without his satchel, which held a numerous amount of items, to keep himself occupied if he ended up staying somewhere for a long time.

Roman walked outside of the house, closed the door, and took a running start, just to jump himself up into the air and flap his wings. Roman always did something flamboyant for when he went up into the sky. Roman grinned and twirled a bit in the air when he reached above the trees, taking in a breath of fresh air. This was nice, compared to staying inside for a long time. Roman spotted Virgil, who was a few meters above the trees but below Roman. Roman drifted down towards Virgil, flying next to him. "Hey, Virge! Funny seeing you here!" Roman said, looking over at Virgil, who had his headphones around his neck now, showing that he was listening to him. Virgil gave a nod towards him, keeping quiet for the sake of the peace that he had before Roman came in.

Virgil didn't hate Roman's company he loved it. But, right now, he was trying to sort his feelings out for the bright man. Roman flew next to him quietly, enjoying the comfortable silence between them. Virgil glanced over towards Roman, an idea forming in his head. Virgil has been trying to control his magic much more often than he used to in the past and had a plan that he wanted to try to confess to Roman with. Virgil brought his hands out of his pockets and brought them in front, dark purple lighting and clouds taking place in between his palms. Virgil's tongue poked out as he concentrated on the shape that he wanted, trying to make it as detailed as he possibly could. Roman looked over curiously, quirking an eyebrow up as he watched Virgil. Virgil suddenly had a dark purple rose in his hands, having sparks of purple lightning coming out every so often. Roman looked down at the rose in surprise, looking in Virgil's glowing purple eyes for an answer.

Virgil simply looked away holding the rose out towards Roman, who took it very carefully, staring at it in wonder. Roman wasn't stupid, Virgil was confessing to him and trying not to use words to avoid embarrassing himself. Roman grinned brightly, putting the rose behind his ear, and put his palms together, fire erupting from them. Roman was used to creating things from his magic, and, with Virgil still looking away, blushing a bright pink, was able to make an entire bouquet of fire red roses, licks of harmless fire floating out of the roses. Virgil tentatively looked over when he noticed that Roman wasn't flying next to him anymore, noticing the large bouquet in his hands. Virgil flew over to him, about an arm's length away from him, taking the bouquet when it was gestured to him. Roman drifted a bit closer to him, bringing the darker male into a hug, ecstatic that Virgil returned his feelings.
