"YOU KNOW, Flo hates it when you smoke in here," Macie stated as the front doors opened, not even looking up to know that it was Hopper coming in late... again.
"Ah, Macie, aren't you looking absolutely radiant today." Hopper smirked down at her, blowing cigarette smoke into the air,
She narrowed her eyes at him, "What do you want, Hop?"
"Make sure Murray doesn't come in again today. I need some time away from that looney." Hopper replied,
"Too late." Macie smirked, handing him a piece of paper, "He already called. He'll be in at 11:30."
He raised his eyebrows, "How about we go to lunch at 11?"
"How inappropriate, Chief." Macie smiled, taking the cigarette out of his mouth and handing him his coffee, "Murray only wants five minutes."
"He always wants just five minutes. What's it this time?" Hopper groaned,
"I have a bet with the boys. They think aliens. I put money down on Bigfoot." Macie smirked,
He hummed, "I think Russians."
Macie shook her head, "I didn't even think about that." She pointed at him, "You're a smart one."
Hopper hummed, "Any other calls this morning?" He asked on the way to his office,
"Already sent the boys out!" Macie told him, "Missing dog, fight between the neighbors, the usual."
"You're the best!" Hop exclaimed,
"Don't tell Flo." Macie replied as Hopper closed the door to his office.
Macie spent the next few hours filing reports and putting them in their respective drawers and taking calls when they came in. Soon enough, ten minutes early, Murray came in.
"Oh boy." Macie sighed, standing up to greet him, "Morning Murray. I'm sorry to waste your time but you just missed Hopp-"
"His truck's outside," Murray responded,
"Oh! Um, he must've come back in when I was on break. Sorry bout that." She led him towards Jim's office, where she knocked and opened the door, "I tried." Macie whispered to him before Murray entered,
Macie gave Jim a smile and thumbs up before leaving the office.
It wasn't long before Murray left, yelling how no one believed him but he'll show them. Macie smirked as Jim left his office with a sigh, "Lunch?" Macie suggested,
"You read my mind." He handed her a 10 dollar bill as she put her coat on, but when she reached for it he pulled it away, "And none of that healthy crap like the last time."
Macie rolled her eyes, "It was just a salad, you overgrown child." She grabbed the money and walked towards the door,
"And no diet coke either!" Jim yelled from behind her,
"What a baby." Macie sighed as she left, "It was one time."
