MACIE SENT THE BOYS TO A LADY'S HOUSE AFTER SHE GOT A CALL ABOUT A STRANGE GIRL IN HER YARD.
And after a few messages from Joyce, Macie's day was over and Hopper still hadn't returned. Irritated, the blonde went home.
She rolled her eyes as she walked in the door and heard Billy blasting music from his room. She went into her room that she shared with Max and spotted the red head on her bed, doing homework.
"How was school?" Macie asked, hanging up her jacket and slipping her boots off.
"It was fine." Max mumbled, writing some stuff down in her notebook.
Macie nodded, "Okay, well I don't think the parents are going to be back till later, so how about I make some mac n' cheese?"
"Okay." Mac replied and Macie sighed,
"Cool." The blonde sighed before leaving the room and towards the kitchen. She grabbed a pot from the cupboard and filled it with water from the sink before placing it on the stove and turning it on.
She walked over to her brother's bedroom and knocked on the door, "Billy." She waited for a moment, not hearing a response, "Billy!" Macie banged on the door and her brother opened it up.
He stared at her with blank eyes, a cigarette hanging from his lips, "What?"
"Don't let dad catch you smoking that in here." Macie narrowed her eyes,
"Okay, mom. Why did you come over here to bother me?" Billy asked,
"I'm making dinner." She stared at him, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." He growled slamming his door shut.
"Jeez." Macie walked back into the kitchen, "What's in the air today?"
After a very silent dinner, both kids went straight back to their room. Macie stood and began cleaning the dishes.
The front door opened and two sets of footprints entered the house, "Did they get fed?" Susan asked, squeezing Macie's arm.
Macie gave her a small smile, "Yep. Max did her homework and Billy... was being Billy."
"Thank you." Susan smiled before going back into her bedroom.
Slow and steady footsteps approached her and Macie kept her head down, continuing to wash the dishes. Macie set the pot off to the drying rack before picking up a bowl.
"You missed a spot." Neil picked up the pot and dropped it back into the soapy water, splashing it everywhere and breaking the bowl in her hand.
"Sorry, sir." Macie clenched her jaw and picked up the pot to wash it, wincing when the jagged edges of the bowl cut her hand,
"Crap." She winced, taking her hand out of the water and grabbing the dish towel, wrapping her hand in it.
"What are you doing?" Her father growled, gripping her wrist tightly,
"I'm bleeding." Macie hissed back, trying to snatch her hand back,
"So you wipe your blood on Susan's towels?" Neil asked, tightening his grip.
"I just needed to put pressure on it. I'll wash it." Macie replied,
"No, you've already stained it. It's ruined." He grabbed Macie by the back of the neck and led her towards his bedroom, "Now I want you to apologise to Susan."
Susan watched with wide eyes as the two entered the bedroom, "I-I'm sorry, Susan." Macie stated,
"Oh, it's fine. They're old anyways." Susan replied, looking up at her husband, "It's fine, really."
Neil let her go, "Now finish cleaning the dishes."
"But... my hand." Macie mumbled and Neil grabbed her and slammed her back into the wall,
"Do I look concerned about your hand?" He growled,
"No, sir." Macie whispered and he let her go,
"Go finish!"
After throwing away the broken bowl and cleaning the rest of the dishes, Marie went into the bathroom where the first aid kit was.
There was a knock on the door and Macie opened it to reveal her younger brother, "What do you want?" Macie asked,
Billy pushed by her and grabbed the kit, l]taking out the gauze, "Did you clean it?" He asked her,
Macie nodded, "Yeah."
"Sometimes I feel like you try to piss him off." Billy scoffed, wrapping her hand,
"We shouldn't have to deal with him. I don't know how Susan does." Macie responded,
"What are you gonna do? Kill him?" Billy smirked, taping the gauze closed,
"I could." Macie whispered and Billy's head shot up to look at her,
"What?"
"Hopper gave me a gun." Her eyes locked onto her brother's, "I could do it. It's self defence."
Billy shook his head, "Neil would just haunt our ass, you know that. Could never get rid of him." He went back to the door, "Don't be stupid, Macie."
