Krystina's POV

I was walking towards the lacrosse field with Scott and Stiles. They were heading to practice and I was tagging along until I reached the bleachers.

"But you're still the team captain. You got your grades up just like coach told you to, right?" Stiles was asking Scott.

"Yeah, but he never told me I was back on the team. Just told me to show up at tryouts today." Scott frowned unsure of his current lacrosse status.

"Guys, we got bigger stuff to deal with right now." I reminded them of our Kate dilemma.

"Did you tell Argent yet?" Stiles asked us, pausing at the end of the bleachers.

Scott and I came to a stop as well. "I didn't... I was uh- busy." I stuttered a little. Stiles squinted at me obviously curious but turned to Scott.

"I texted him but he didn't get back to me." Scott said scratching his head.

Stiles flailed his arms, features set in disbelief, "You told him his sister, Kate, came back from the dead over a text?!"

"Didn't have the money to call France." Scott sighed in defeat.

"Yeah, you think you got money problems. Try paying for an MRI and a visit to Eichen House."

"Another notice?" My eyes shoot to Stiles.

"Yeah. This one said final." Stiles gave a sad nod.

"Well, this got depressing real fast," I shouldered my bag, "I'm gonna go up and start some homework. See ya!" I waved and trotted up the bleachers.

I sat my stuff down and pulled out some papers and a textbook. Math really is a pain in the ass. I seriously don't know how Lydia is able to know it so easily. I started on a worksheet that had something to do with polynomials. I didn't get much done before a shadow appeared in front of me.

I looked up ready to snap at whoever blocked the light when I felt the tingles. Kol stood in front of me with a handsome grin on his face.

"What are you doing here?" I asked in confusion.

He tossed his stuff down and sat next to me, our thighs touching causing more tingles.

"My brothers and I thought it'd be a good idea to have someone here to watch over you. And since I'm the youngest and look the youngest I was chosen." He shrugged like it was nothing.

"Well, if you're here to stay can you help me with this?" I gesture towards the math paper. "I really don't know what I'm doing."

He let out a laugh and gave me a nod. "Not one of my strongest topics either, but I'll try."

I was sitting in my desk for math class just tapping my fingers. I was watching the door to see who exactly was in the class. I already knew Lydia was considering she was sitting next to me. I smiled when Kol walked through the doorway. He gave me a grin and proceeded to sit behind me. I laughed a little when I saw Malia enter and quickly exit. Not a moment later Stiles was guiding her back into the class.

"I hate math it's pointless." Malia told Stiles as they walked over to us.

"It's school. School is important and math is essential." Stiles explains its importance. They both sat down behind Lydia.

"To what?" Malia asked furrowing her brows.

"Knowing how much to tip at restaurants." Stiles gave a small grin and a wink. I rolled my eyes and shared a look with Lydia.

Lydia looked at Stiles like he was an idiot for a second. "And less important things like medicine, economics, and engineering."

"Tipping!" Stiles butted in again.

"Don't worry Malia I don't quite get it either." I attempted to reassure her.

Didn't help much considering she growled at me and then Stiles when she got called to the board with Lydia. I turned back to Kol and shrugged.

"Well, remind me not to get on her bad side. I should probably pass that on to Nik and Elijah." He told me, amused.

I was about to ask about Nik and Elijah when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned my head towards Stiles with my eyebrow raised. He held his phone towards me wanting to show me what was on the screen. My face fell when I saw the word homicide. I took his phone and proceeded to show Kol.

All three of us shared a look knowing that this was probably just the beginning.

Sorry, this is so short. I just wanted to get a chapter out for those who are reading this story. I've just been limited on time with work and school. But, thankfully my job was only a summer one and my last day was yesterday. Which means I now have free weekends for me to write. Hopefully, you all are doing okay and I hope you have a good day!

P.S. longer chapters to come! Also, there might be a new book posted soon.
