Krystina's POV

I walked into the station and headed to Stilinski's office. I knocked on the door before opening it. Scott gave me a brief nod of acknowledgment before turning back to Stilinski.

"It's a dead pool. A hit list of supernatural creatures." Scott pulled out a folded up paper from his jacket and laid it on the desk. "This is only part of it. The rest still needs to be decoded."

Stilinski read over all of the names on the list. "Who round the list?"

"Lydia." Stiles and I chorused.

"How?" Stilinski glanced between the three of us.

"She wrote it. Actually, she transcribed it. Without realizing it." Stiles said, glancing at his father awkwardly.

  Stilinski sighed and nodded, "Banshee?"

  "Banshee."

"Beautiful. All right, what are these numbers next to the names?" Stilinski gestured to various numbers on the paper.

"We're getting to that. First, you need to know that the code was broken with a cipher key." Stiles explained, hands waving about as he talked.

"Wait." The Sheriff raised his hand. "You mean, like a... Like a keyword?"

I shifted on my feet in discomfort. I knew what this conversation was leading to.

"It's actually a name." Stiles voiced.

There was a tense silence after the statement. Scott put his head and avoided eye contact with everybody. Stiles had pursed his lips equally uncomfortable. Stilinski glanced at us in question.

"Allison." I spoke up, heart throbbing painfully at the name.

Memories of Allison's cheerful smile and warm doe eyes ran through my head. I reminisced on the times, Lydia, Allison, and I would go shopping when Allison first moved here. Or when we have our annual girls night where we'd gossip about things and take a break from the current supernatural occurrences.

"Her name broke a third of the list." Stiles interrupted the tense silence.

Scott cleared his throat. "And now we think there's two other cipher keys."

Stilinski nodded, "Which will give us the rest of the names. Okay. So how do we get the other cipher keys?"

"Same way we got the code." Stiles told him.

  "Lydia." I confirmed.

Scott added on to what I said. "She's been out at the lake house all weekend trying to find the other keywords."

My phone dinged in my pocket. I pulled it out to see a text from Klaus.

From Big Bad Wolf 🐺- Where are you?

I glance up at the boys and the Sheriff. "Do you guys still need me here?"

"No, we'll be fine. One of your lover boys asking for you?" Stiles has a goofy smile on his face.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "Yes, he did. Besides, it's getting late. I'll see you guys tomorrow."

I waved goodbye before heading out to my car. I turned the car on before putting it in drive and leaving.

   •••

They were sitting on the couch in their living room when I walked in. Elijah was reading a book while Kol and Klaus were on their phones. Kol looked up when the door shut behind me.

He stood and tossed his hands up dramatically, "Bloody finally!"

He sauntered over to me and threw an arm around my neck. He rested his head on my shoulder with his breath fanning against my cheek. My cheeks grew warm with his close proximity. They grew warmer at the smirk resting upon his lips.

Elijah put his book down and stood as well. Klaus remained on the couch with his phone now put away.

"Love, you could have at least responded to my text." Klaus teased, an arrogant smirk on his face.

"Sorry, my mind was elsewhere." I mumbled sheepishly.

"Don't worry your pretty little head about it, darling. But, now that we have you all to ourselves now..." Kol grinned provocatively, running his eyes over my figure.

  "Kol." Elijah tersely.

"Calm down, Elijah. I'm just jesting." Kol gave me one last squeeze before plopping down on the couch again.

I dropped my bag by the armchair and sat down between Kol and Klaus. Klaus tossed his arm around me and pulled me into his side. Elijah sat down in the armchair with his gaze locked on me.

"How'd it go at your friend's lake house?" Elijah asked.

"As well as expected. I mean he is a newly turned beta. So, it could've been better, could've been worse." I shrugged and leaned more into Klaus.

"What took you so long?" Kol asked, scooting closer.

"Apparently Liam told his friend about the 'party' which led to at least half the school showing up at the lake house. So while Kira and Scott dealt with Liam, Lydia and I handled the party. Remember when I told you about my friends, how Lydia was a Banshee?" The three of them nodded so I continued. "She uh wrote this code and it turns out to be a dead pool. We've only cracked a third of it but some of our names are on it. I didn't see mine but there are still two more to crack."

"How did you and your friends crack it?" Elijah inquires.

"A keyword. It was..." I paused and took a trembling breath. "A name. Allison. She was a friend of mine. She passed away recently."

They seemed to take notice of the tears brimming in my eyes and unconsciously shifted closer. I brushed away the tears that managed to slip through and plastered a smile on my face. "I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty tired. Do you mind if I stayed for the night?"

Kol's eyes searched my face for second before he glanced at his brothers. With a nod from Elijah and Klaus he stood and scooped me up.

"Hey! I pretty sure I'm capable of walking." I yelped, surprised.

"But you fit so comfortably in my arms, darling." Kol said as he carried me up the stairs.

I wrapped my arms around his neck as he continued to carry me to a room. He entered a room off to the left and gently set me down on the bed. He left the room and quickly returned with a shirt in hand.

"You can wear this instead of the clothes you wore to the party." Kol softly said and handed the shirt to me. "We'll be downstairs if you need anything."

And with one last soft smile he left after shutting the door behind him. I glanced down at the shirt in my hands and smiled softly. I quickly changed out of my clothes and put on the shirt. It was practically a dress on me. I walked over to the side of the bed and slid under the covers.

It didn't take long for my eyes to fall shut while listening to the sounds of soft chatter downstairs.
