Chapter 13

after he leaves I lay down in the bed and try to sleep, but my mind won't shut off. I get up and go to kitchen. No one is up so I decide to go down to the gym. When I walk in i notice the place is empty. I start working out and about 30 minutes later a small group of girls comes in. I ignore them and turn my music up on my headphones and walk over to the treadmill. I can see them staring but I try to ignore it. A few minutes later one of them gets on the treadmil next to me. I notice her keep looking over at me so I take out my headphones "I'm sorry can I help you? You've been staring at me for the last 30 minutes and it's really making me uncomfortable." I say louder than planned, "I'm sorry Miss. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable. I just- you look familiar. Are you the one thats dating Tom Holland?" She asks. I can't tell if she's really interested or just out for a story. "We've hung out yes. Why do you ask?" I reply slowing my treadmill down. "I just- I seen the article they posted about you. With those pictures" she smiles shyly. "I kinda figured that, I'm sure everyone has." I reply stepping off the treadmil. "Look, I know what you're thinking-" I start but she stops me "I don't think anything except what a shame it is that someone would send those pictures to TMZ. You can tell what was happening and it's just not right that they published those. I'm so sorry you have to go through that." She says sweetly. We sit down on a bench along the wall. Her other friends join. "Are you okay?" One of them asks. "I guess I'm as okay as you could figure" "why aren't you with Tom? Did you guys break up?" One of them asks- she looks like she's 13. "I don't really feel comfortable taking about it. He's a really private person and it wouldn't be fair to him for me to just talk freely about it." She sighs obviously upset I didn't give her more. "It was nice meeting you ladies but I gotta go." I say standing up and walking toward the door. The girl from the treadmil grabs my arm to stop me. "My dads a lawyer if you wanna do anything about those pictures. Here's his card. He works with a lot of celebrities and deals with stuff like this often," I Thank her and take the card.

When I get back to the room I shower and get dressed for the day. I don't plan on leaving the room so I put on a pair of leggings and sweater. When I get back to the kitchen Jess and Haley are sitting at the bar top. "Hey girly, how you feeling?" Jess asks. "I've been better." I say grabbing a cup of coffee. "Where's Tom?" Haley asks. "He had to leave earlier, press interviews" "so what are we doing today?" Kennedy asks walking into the kitchen. "I'll be here on that couch watching trash daytime tv and possibly some of the live interviews" I say pointing to the couch. "You can't just stay in the hotel room! You came here for a reason! You cant just not go!" Jess screams. "Guys. I love you but I'm not going anywhere today. I need things to die down before I walk out there. You guys go do what you had planned. The convention tickets are still in the envelope for today's stuff. Go! Seriously I'm fine." I say pushing the tickets to them. "No way. If your staying in so are we. Will have a full on lazy day. It's our vacation, we can be lazy for one day." Kennedy wraps her arms around my shoulder. "You don't need to be alone right now anyways. Let's turn off our phones. order breakfast and some snacks find some trashy tv show and enjoy the day."

Later that day after watching an entire season of Lost I decide to turn my phone on.
T.Holland♥️: I hope you got some sleep after I left.
T.Holland♥️: My team told all the interviewers not to ask about the pictures.
T.Holland♥️: Kennedy said your staying in today. I don't blame you, even though i wish I could be there with you.
Kennedy flips the channel over to the comic con channel just as Toms last live interview starts. My heart races the second he walks on screen. Wearing his signature dark jeans and black tee with his hat turned backwards. The interview starts and you can tell he's nervous, he hates live interviews because he knows he could mess up. They bring Robert out with him probably to make sure he doesn't spoil anything. He smiles big but I can tell it's forced. I hate that I've caused him so much drama during what should be an exciting time. They ask him a bunch of questions regarding the movie like expected. About 30 minutes later the interviewer asks if they can switch gears for a minute, he hesitantly nods his head. "So we have a few fan questions we collected earlier today at the convention center. 11 year old Abby k asks: do you have a girlfriend right now?" The interviewer asks. Tom shifts in his seat, "Um. I do not have a girlfriend right now, but I do have a special mate" He looks down to his feet and you can tell he's uncomfortable. "Okay I know we were told not to ask but can you explain-" Robert stops the lady before she can finish "No disrespect but what your gonna ask isn't something that needs to be-" Tom stops him. Oh no. I sit up on the couch. "Let me guess.. You want me to explain those pictures of my mate that were inappropriately released by TMZ and shared by almost every news outlet here? Including you guys?" He sits up tall in his seat, the lady looks at him obviously confused and uncomfortable. "Those pictures are being spread around and so are accusations about her, she's an amazing, kind, beautiful soul that is being pull under by people that are suppose to be my fans. Those pictures hold terrible memories for her, and if you really look at the setting of them you could see that. She's currently held up in her hotel because she's hurt by this, by all of the mean and cruel things being said to and about her. TMZ should have never sent those pictures out and to the mean cruel soul that sent them to them, I don't know what your going through that causes you to cause people emence amounts pain like that but I'll be praying for you." He turns to look at the camera. "And to my special mate, I apologize again for my fans and the rest of the world spreading hate to you. You are one person that doesn't deserve an ounce of hate. You're the most beautiful soul I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know. And I hope soon everyone sees that as much as I do." He blows a kiss toward the camera. When he looks back to the interviewer she shifts in her seat. "I can see your pretty upset over all of this" she says hesitantly. "Upset isn't a strong enough word for how I feel." He reply's. Robert rests his hand on his shoulder. "I've met this gal a few times and I have to agree with Tom. None of that should have been put out into the public. She's a kind person. She just happened to meet this crazy man here and hit it off. She shouldn't be dragged through the mud and put under the microscope for things because they are hanging out. She's a victim. And those pictures show that. Anyone that can't see that is obviously blind." He looks to Tom and Tom nods his head. "Ok back to fan questions" the lady says. After a few questions about the movie and other things they wrap the interview up, "I apologize for making you upset with my question" she says to Tom. "No need to apologize. I'll happily defend her every chance I get." He says shaking her hand. Kennedy turns the tv down and moves beside me. "You okay?" She asks wiping the tears from my eyes. Jess and Haley sit on the other side. "Yeah I'm okay." My phone chimes on my lap. i look down at my phone. Tom Holland defends "Special Mate" in interview at Comic-Con. "I swear tabloids are such vultures." Jess says looking at my phone. "The interview just finished 5 minutes ago and they are already attacking it." She finishes. I open the article and start reading it.
During an interview Tom was asked about the scandalous pictures released by TMZ late last night. He isn't very happy about it. "Upset isnt a strong enough word to describe how I feel right now." the teen heartthrob said. Apparently the pictures are darker than they were made out by TMZ. Many are speculating what that means but we have a pretty good idea after Robert Downey jr says "She's a victim and those pictures show that." Tom is obviously pissed off over these pictures even calling out the unknown person that sent them saying he will be praying for them "I don't know what you're going through to cause someone such emence amounts of pain but I'll be praying for you." He then apologizes to said "special mate" for his fans and everyone else saying cruel things.
To this special lady in our favorite Spider-Man's life, we apologize on behalf of all the news outlets releasing those pictures. Here at Weben mag we don't Stan for stuff like this. Our hearts are broken for you and prayers for you in this difficult time"
"Well that was sweet." Haley says
"Yeah. It was." I say smiling.
"Are you going to text Tom back?" Jess asks as I read his text again.
"I don't know" I say staring at the text. I put my phone down and it goes off.
T.Holland♥️: I'm sure you've seen the interview by now. I hope you're not upset. I just couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore. I've been dodging questions all day and I just needed to say something. Please write me back.
"T- come on. Why aren't you talking to him?" I stand up and go to the kitchen. "I just- I don't know" I say quietly.
"What happened? Did you tell him?" Kennedy asks following me.
"Yeah. I told him. And he was sweet and comforting. But I've already caused him enough trouble in the last 48 hours."
"Oh no. No your not. Your not sabotaging your chance to be with a great guy like Tom." Jess says jumping up from the couch. "I'm not sabotaging anything. I'm being realistic. He doesn't need my crap dragging him down. It was nice while it lasted but I already know once he's gone and off to other cities he will find another girl to be with."
"Look at me right now and tell me you actually believe that."
I look down and fliddle with my hands. "Exactly! You can't keep doing this to yourself. I know what happened last night sucked! And I feel for ya I do. But your letting go of someone that genuinely cares for you. Your letting Tyler win." Haley says sitting down at the bar.
"You know she's right T" Kennedy says.
"I get being reserved. You have every right but you can't keep pushing away people that genuinely care for you. Like Hayley said, if you keep doing that, your letting Tyler win. Even after 5 years he's still controlling your life. Don't let him." Jess says grabbing my hand. Tears start running down my face. I know their right. I've been letting my past control every part of me and it's not fair. "T- show him that what he did to you doesn't define who you are. You deserve to be happy." " I know you guys are right. I just think I need to time to- I don't know." I say laying my head down on the counter.
"Text him." Jess says sliding my phone across the counter. "He hasn't done anything wrong." I grab my phone and open it.
T.Holland♥️: I'm sorry if what I said upset you. I know it wasn't right for me to put what happened out there without your permission but I wanted to take some of the pressure off of you. I guess I'll talk to you whenever your ready.
