Chapter 19

2 months later:

The last two months have been wild. My parents had so many questions when I went to their house the Monday night after we got back. My mother practically attacked me when I walked through her door, wanting to know how it happened and what. She screamed when I told her we were dating and he would visit soon. My dad was skeptical, my brother Caleb thinks I'm lying, and my sister can't believe it. Everyone keeps asking so many questions. It's been hard.
The hardest part is not seeing Tom. He's been busy constantly and when he does get time off he ends up back home in London. He keeps promising me that he will come soon but he's yet to make it happen.
"So have you heard from Tom lately?" Kennedy asks plopping down on my bed.
"He texted me this morning. He's back home in London for his brother birthday." I say writing my appointments in my calendar for this month.
"Well is he coming to visit soon?" She pries "I don't know" I say frowning. "You guys have been dating for 2 months and you have yet to see him"
"I know. He's busy. He just got casted in a new movie so he's busy"
"T- seriously! I live with you, I work with you. I rarely hear you talking to him. I rarely see you texting. What's going on?"
I sigh loudly and close my calendar. "I don't know. Honestly. He's just so busy. The last time he was free long enough to actually FaceTime, he fell asleep after about five minutes."
"That's crazy! Have you thought about going to surprise him?" She asks grabbing the airline card from my dresser
"He's only gonna be in London for 2 days. And I don't even know where he's going after. Plus I can't get off work. I have appointments booked every day for the next 2 months." I get up and go to the kitchen. "Look T-."
"I just miss him." I say grabbing a cup of coffee. "Well I missed you too Princess" I freeze instantly. The sound of his beautiful english accent is like music to my ears.
I turn around to find him standing in the hallway. The biggest smile across his face. I run and practically jump into his arms. "I'll leave you two alone" Kennedy says laughing as she leaves the apartment. "What are you doing here?" I practically scream into his neck! "I missed you." He says Squeezing me tight and putting me down. "It's been way too long. And I'm so-" I crash my lips into his before he can finish. He sighs into my mouth. His lips so soft. He holds me tighter. I missed his touch. I missed the way his lips taste Minty and fruity at the same time. "Oh baby I really missed you!" He says kissing my forehead. "I missed you too." I say snuggling my head on his chest. Being in his arms again feels like I'm officially home. "I didn't crash any plans did I? I know I probably should have called" I grab his hand and pull him to my room, he grabs his bag and puts it by my dresser. "No, I just have a family dinner on Saturday." I say laughing "Well I was hoping to stay till Monday? If that's okay?" He's wrapping his arms around my back. "You can stay forever if you want" I laugh. "If I could. I would baby" he lays a soft kiss on my lips. He tucks my hair behind my ear. "So what about this family dinner?" He asks as we make our way back to the living room. "We do them every couple months. I can miss this one if you don't want to come?" "No, id love to go." "Good, then my brother can stop saying I've photoshopped all the picture I have" I say laughing. "I really am sorry it's taken me this long to come. I tried coming a few times but I've been working so much I just couldn't find time and I didn't want to just come for a day and leave. I just-" "Tom, it's okay." I say placing my hand over his mouth laughing "I understand. I'm not mad. I never was. I'm just glad your here." He smiles against my hand. "I lo- missed you." He says kissing me hard. I pretend I didn't hear that almost slip up and grab his hand. "Since I didn't know you were coming I need to go get some food. Either come with me, or go take a nap. Your beautiful brown eyes look like they're about to fall out!" I can tell he's barley slept. He was just home last night celebrating his brothers birthday, I know this because he sent me a snap of them singing him happy birthday around 5pm- which is 11pm their time. so he couldn't have gotten any sleep if he's here now. He stays quiet "come on" I say dragging him to my room. He pulls his shoes off and plops onto my bed. "Ooh yeah. This is nice" He says pushing my pillow under his head, I grab the blanket and throw it over him. I go into my closet to grab my purse and shoes. "Take a nap. I'll be back soon and I'll fix us dinner" I say walking out of my closet, I look up and notice he's already snoring. I kiss his cheek and leave the apartment. I can't believe he's here! Asleep in my bed.

When I get back from the store Kennedy is home and so is Jess. We rented this apartment a few years ago together, Jess was sick of her parents house so Kennedy and I let our apartment go we had together since sophomore year of college and moved to this one, it's a 4 bedroom 4 bath with a spacious living area and kitchen. My favorite part is the balcony. You can see the Lexington skyline perfectly. "Hey girl! Your boy snores you know that right?" Jess says helping me with the bags. "I know. It's cute though so I don't mind" I say with the biggest smile ever. "Did you know he was coming?" I ask Kennedy. "No. He called me about an hour before he showed up and said he needed a ride. I was confused!" She laughs, "when we got here I told him to hide in Haley's old room"
"How long was he here?" I ask putting the food away. "Not long" "so what's for dinner tonight? I know your cooking because you never get groceries unless you plan to cook." Jess says pulling pasta out of the bag. "I thought about just making a roasted chicken. Something easy." I say Putting everything else away.
I start cooking and put everything in a roasting pan putting the whole Chicken on top of chopped potatoes,onions and carrots. The last time I made this meal the girls ate every ounce of it, so I made sure to make more than usual. "Hey, Haley and Todd wanna know if they can join for dinner? And I was gonna invite Josh over." Jess says from the living room. "Yeah! Sounds good. We have plenty. Tell Kennedy to tell Julie to come too. This is the first time we've all had boyfriends/girlfriends/fiancé at the same time!" I wash my hands and head to room to check on Tom. I open the door to find him still sound asleep. I lay down next to him and run my hand over his face. He starts to stir. "Hey beautiful" He smiles before opening his eyes "did you sleep good?" I ask before kissing him. "I did" He says sitting up pulling me to him. "Mmh What smells so good? I'm famished" He says turning his nose up like a dog smelling a treat which makes me laugh "roasted chicken with veggies. I hope you don't mind but we will have a few extras at dinner." He looks at me confused. "Jess invited her Boyfriend Josh. And Hayley is coming with her fiancé Todd, and Kenndys girlfriend Julie is coming" He looks surprised "Sounds good. I can't wait to meet them!" He says kissing me softly. "I can't believe you're here!" I squeal like a little girl and he laughs. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else" he says kissing me. "Damn I missed this." He laughs. "Me too. More than you know" I say quietly, "I really am sorry I haven't been so present the last few months. I heard you when you told Kennedy about me falling asleep on FaceTime. I felt so bad about that baby." He says holding me tight. "It's okay babe." I place my forehead against his. "No it's not. I should have made more time for you." I kiss his nose. "Thomas. I promise you, it's okay. No need to keep apologizing. You're here now. For the next four days I have you here. Let's enjoy it."
