"...did I ever tell you I wanted to live lavishly? My whole life, you made me see my father as a villain not knowing your the villain. Call me whatever you feel like. But why did you have to separate me from my father? My pride? The only reason we were treated like trash while growing up was because we had no father in the picture, all thanks to you. But I thank God I got into my senses, you might have been the woman that gave birth to me,but you have no right to call me your daughter" Maryam said as she was loosing her cool.

Her mother was speechless as of that moment, and that was what Maryam Umaru Mailaya was best at,leaving people completely speechless.

"And just for the records,I know you know about Sophie's where about. You think what your doing to her is called love? Then you must have skipped elementary school to know the true meaning of love. Trust me one day,you are going to regret what you have done and by that time, you won't have the opportunity of a second chance,it will be too late" She walked out of the house feeling...
Frustrated

Angered

Sad

Since obviously the conversation didn't go as planned, she couldn't wait for Fawaz to pick her up as they agreed, rather she hired a taxicab back home. The moment she stepped into her house, all sorts of emotions got mixed up in her head, old memories came flooding back to her,it was as if it was haunting her,one thing was for sure, the past will remain in the past, but one thing was for sure, the pain and wound she felt inside of her will always be there. They say time has the ability to heal wounds, but in her own situation,no amount of time will heal her.

Today being the 5th of October marked exactly a year Maya was born,it is true what they say, time waits for no one, time stops for no one. A lot has happened within the span of two months,Huda quit her job of being a nanny has she packed back to her home town Hadeja a local government area of Jigawa state, although she didn't quit, rather she was fired.During that time,Maya had gone through a phase,I mean though it was just a short period of time, but she had gotten really used to her and she felt lonely when she left. First it was her mother, now it was Huda.
Imam has moved on as he has finally planned on marrying again and this time around, both him and his parents had to do a background check on the girl in question, though she was no stranger to them, but hey! Prevention is better than cure. Though they haven't rounded up things, but soon everything shall come to past.

Huda was currently seated on a mat enjoying the early morning breeze collide with her skin when her mother came out from her room and sat beside her.

"What is it that has got you thinking at this early hour, because one thing is for sure, you never wake up this early"Her mom remarked and it was true. Even when she used to work back at the city,Sophie had to wake her up which was rather unpleasant, but it is all in the past now.

She turned to look at her mother with a smile as she closed her eyes trying to savor the moment before she came in contact with her mother's stare.

"You do know me better than I myself"she chuckled a bit.

"I was just thinking about my father"even though she said it with no meaning attached, but that got her mother tensing up a bit which she immediately sensed.

"Mama are you alright?"she asked with a frown.

How she wish she could tell her,but she knew how curious her daughter could be,but it was high time she knew. I mean nineteen years is no joke at all.

"Actually-

She immediately cut off her mother,in as much as she would like to listen to what her mother has to say, unfortunately she couldn't as the sun was already visible up in the sky meaning she was already late. After she came back from the city, she started up a little business.
Everyday she sells her goods, she makes profit and today wasn't an exception, she tries to save the money she earns in the hopes of sponsoring herself into the higher institution.

She collapsed on her mattress immediately she entered her room. From the door, one could easily hear her breathing breathlessly as she was exhausted. The time was only eleven meaning it was still morning,so she tried to get shut down her system into a deep slumber, but all efforts put in was in vain and this was when she wished she had a friend whom she could visit. But unfortunately, growing up as a child, her mother made sure she had isolated her from the people of the village. When she was a bit younger, her mom took her to a boarding school in the neighboring village and whenever she questions her mother, she'd always say a word "because..." and at a point in time, she gave up asking as it was of no use.

Absence makes the heart to grow fonder. Since there was obviously no chores available to do,she thought it would be the best time she asked her mother because it was the first time in a very long time she had attempted to open up. As she got up from her mattress and wore her hijab, she proceeded to her mother's room where she met her seated on the mat and by the looks of things, she was lost as well as deep in her thoughts. It took her about ten minutes before she realized there was another being in the room.

"Uhm?" She gave her the signature questioning glare.

"You were about to say something when I cut you off earlier " she replied barely in a whisper as she dreaded her mother's glare. By the mention of that, confusion was pasted on her face before it dawned to her what her daughter meant,Hajjo's face, whom is Huda's mother softened a bit. She heaved a heavy sigh, this was the day she dreaded the most, she definitely knew she had to explain somethings to her daughter, but she didn't know it would be this soon. It took her every ounce of courage to speak up.

"You need to know..."
