"Babba chukies!" The cute little girl exclaimed as she pointed out to the isle of all sorts of chocolates and cookies before them, she sure is very smart!
He feigned hurt,as a frown made its way to his face as he pouted his lips, well that's a first!
"Do we really have to?"he protested as the girl simply giggled as she nodded her head.
They have been shopping for an hour, well technically Maya was doing the shopping, she'd make sure she grabbed any assorted food or snack that comes in contact with her sights.
He exhaled deeply as he grabbed three bags of Oreo biscuits, though he had to check whether it was halal or not. After he literally walked them to the counter,he paid where he kept Maya on the trolley as he wheeled her to the parking lot. He buckled his seatbelt as he ignited the car to which they drove away to the district of Asokoro.
After he had fired Huda,he decide to move in with his parents as the house was empty which only made him become full of sorrow. Though he'd be getting married in some few months to come, but the thing is he hasn't confessed his feelings to the girl yet.
"I'm not ready for marriage" was her reply after he had asked her when she was planning on getting married."Assalamualaikum" he said as he walked in with Maya.
The house was oddly silent as it was unusual considering the fact that they had two chatter boxes. The father and daughter both turned to look at each other as they exchanged glances. He walked forward into the house when he came in sight with the kitchen door,as his throat was dry,he proceeded to the kitchen and grabbed an opaque bottle containing the zamzam water which he gulped down. Just then, the housemaid Falmata came into view as he handed Maya over to her.
"We're back!" A bespectacled Layla walked in on them with Ammiey trailing behind her.
Imam couldn't conceal his laughter as his voice vibrated through the room and Layla shot him a murderous look and he didn't need her to speak before he understood what she meant.
"Ammiey tell Ya Imam to stop laughing at me!"she whined with a pout as she dropped the groceries on the kitchen island.
"I can't stop, when did you even start wearing glasses?" He enquired as they both made way to their mother's room.
The trio were conversing, well mostly Imam kept teasing Layla as she was now bespectacled.
"Half blind weird sister-
Suddenly,Farha barged into the room with Maya looking all exhausted.
"Ya Imam, your attention is needed in the west wing" she spoke as she slumped on the bed earning glances from both ladies in the room.
The smile that was plastered on his face vanished immediately he digested the information. It took him some minutes before he was able to move himself out of the room. As he walked further into the west wing where his father's living room was situated, all thoughts ran through his mind as knew to why his father asked for him. He was lost in his thought and thus, got carried away as he didn't the sense his present. He took a deep breath before seating down on the lush beige carpet that covered half of the floor complimenting the brown royal upholster.
"Good evening" he found himself saying after a minute or so. Contrary to the situation,he had a good relationship with his father thus, they were never formal until now because he knew what was coming his way and to say he was nervous would be an understatement.
"I assume you know why I summoned you" his father rhetorically said. This time around,Imam chose to play dump wanting his father to ask him on his own accord.
"Well...your mother came to me with a news and I want to confirm it from you. Is the situation so?"
He stared at a bottle which was contained with water,he had all his attention in it as if it was a fascinating sight to behold.
"Yes" he replied short and formal.
He sure knew his father was still going to ask him,and he found it funny considering the fact that his mother knows her,he got to know her when his mom introduced her.He exhaled deeply. "Who are her parents"...

She stared at her mother with all sorts of thoughts flowing through her mind. She was mum,she was not affected by the confession at all, well at least not yet. She couldn't blink her eyes and you could have sworn that she had froze. Just like a switch, she came out of her trance.

She felt them flood at once. Huda opened her mouth with the intention of speaking, but nothing came out.
"Huda speak to me,I have been talking" her mom spoke as her cheeks were also stained with tears.
As simple as it may be,she tried to move her lips, but to no avail. She couldn't believe her mother chose to hide such vital information about her,she was trying as much as possible to digest the whole information. She found herself leaving the room making way to her room when the thunder stormed as it was raining. At that moment in time, she found herself screaming as the rain attacked her and all she could do was to scream louder.
"Why!" Her eyes were already red due to the amount of tears she had shedded. It just felt so surreal, she was appalled by her mother's words. Albeit the rain, she kept sobbing until she could no more,at that point, she was weak and there in,she collapsed as the rain kept hitting her from different angles. She last thing she was able to see was her mother as her eyes closed.
