"Moving... out?", I asked, my ears in disbelief of what they had just heard.
"I have to... We all agreed that it's the best thing to do. I will get an apartment nearby, pay cash so there is no record back to me and have someone make the transaction for me. No one will be able to trace it back."
"I didn't agree to this! I don't like this at all! How can we be together if you leave??", I was in a panic now. No, he can't leave! I just got him back! This can't be happening!
Jimin turned from me. No... He doesn't mean... He CAN'T mean... "Baby, no... Please. You don't mean that..."
"I'm so sorry, Jungkookie!", he turned back, eyes full of tears. His shaking hands covered his face and he sank forward into my chest. "I hate this! I hate all of it! I hate her!!" I rubbed his back, trying to calm him. He was hurting as much as I was. "She said she would keep her mouth shut if I agreed to live with them and be a proper father to Misun."
"That's... That's blackmail!!! How could you agree to this!?"
"I don't have a choice. Until Yoongi-hyung can get a DNA test figured out, I have to go along with her demands. I kind of get it though, she wants Misun to have a father. I hate Jihoon, but that little girl deserves a good role model so she doesn't turn out like her mother."
"Did Jihoon agree to the test?"
"Not exactly... we agreed that it wouldn't be safe. Yoongi-hyung gave me a signal during the conversation. I knew he had something planned so I let the subject of it go. I trust his judgement."
"Hold on a second.", I got up and poked my head out the door, "Yoongi-hyung! Namjoon-hyung!"
Moments later they walked in. "Everything okay?", they asked.
"Jimin says you 'signaled' him to drop the DNA test, why?"
"Okay, this is just a hunch, but I'm not usually wrong... I think Jihoon is playing us. I think this is all a scheme for money, or just a father for her kid. Maybe both. She dodged a lot during the conversation and immediately hopped on board with avoiding a DNA test.", Yoongi explained.
"It did all match up though, Misun could really be Jimin's child.", Namjoon added.
"Yes, it did match up. I'm not completely ruling it out, but something about her just felt... wrong."
"Because she's evil!", Jimin burst out, clinging to my back.
"I have a plan. We talked about it after you two came in here, and we settled on a course of action. We WILL get a DNA test whether Jihoon wants it or not. Jimin, you WILL move in with them, I don't care how you act towards her, but you will treat that sweet little girl like your own. Even if you aren't her father, she still deserves one; heaven knows her mother is a piece of work. We won't tell Jihoon about the test. When she is at work, Jimin will get a swab from the little girl's cheek and his own. I will send the swabs out to a company overseas for testing. If we do it out of country, it won't be traced. We can use fake names and a decoy mailing address. I will have the results mailed to Namjoon's parents' house, and they will mail it to us. Then we will know for sure."
"Wow, hyung...", I was impressed. The genius duo did it again.
"How long will it take? I don't want to live with her.", Jimin's grip on my shirt tightened and I put my arm around his shoulders to comfort him.
"About a month total. I have to have the kit shipped to Namjoon's parents, they will send it to us, then we have to mail it out and wait a few weeks.", Yoongi sighed, "I wish it could be faster."
