"Hey Mi-Mi!", I waved when I saw her waiting for me in the hall. I never got to hang out with friends, I was excited and happy that she had asked for my help.
"Mi-Mi??", she looked a little startled.
"You don't like it?", crap, had I offended her?
"It's not that, it's just a little weird...", she laughed, "That's what Jaehyun used to call me in high school."
"Have you guys been together that long?"
"Mhmm. He was my high school sweetheart. Now that we are in our 20's, we figured it was time to seal the deal and get married. We are ready to start our family."
"That's great! Did you pick a date?", I really wanted to know more about her relationship. Love that stood the test of time and is finding its happy ending... and even a new beginning. How romantic! I wondered if it was possible for Jungkook and I to make it that long, too.
"We are going to do it about three months from now, we want to give our families time to make their plans and be here."
"Sounds good to me! I'll be sure to send you a gift.", I smiled, what wonderful news. I would never get the chance to marry my love, we couldn't even tell anyone we were together.
"Send a gift? You're coming, silly!", she laughed, putting her hand on my shoulder. "I want all of you to come, if you have any free time that is."
"Are you sure? I've never even met Jaehyun, and your family..."
"Nonsense, you told me yourself before, everyone at Big Hit is family. That makes all of you my family now, too."
"You have such a big heart. Jaehyun is a lucky man."
"Make sure you tell him that!", she busted up, "You'll get to meet him next week when he gets back in town."
"I can't wait! So, uh, what was it you needed my help with? This was great news, but it couldn't have been the only thing."
"Well, actually, next week is also his birthday and I wanted to get him something good, but ever since high school I've been terrible at picking presents for men. You're the first guy friend I've ever had... so I was hoping to get your input on what guys like."
"That depends on the guy. With Jungkookie, I just get him a video game or some manga... clothing... things like that.", oh shit... I just talked about Kookie like he was my boyfriend! I mean, he is, but no one is supposed to know that! "And uh... Yoongi-hyung... he likes... Um... and Taehyung... he uh, he likes clothes, too!", stop talking, just stop. You're making it worse!
Miran giggled and took my hand to calm me down, "Jimin... can I ask you something?"
"Oh yeah! The present for Jaehyun... right! Ummm, let's see..."
"No, silly.", she was laughing at my fluster, "Don't get offended, okay? But... are you dating Jungkook?"
"No way! We are both guys! And besides, we aren't allowed to date.", I was a nervous laughing mess.
"Then why do you look so panicked after the comment?", she leaned closer and grinned, "It's okay, I would never out you."
"How did you find out after only being here for such a short time?", I hung my head. I was a terrible liar.
"Oh hunny... it's written all over your face. During practice you are always watching him and you spend all your breaks next to him. You look at him the way I look at Jae. You love him, don't you?"
"I guess this is why Namjoon-hyung keeps telling us to be more careful... I'm an idiot. It's true, we are dating... and yes, I love him. More than I know how to explain.", if she figured it out, I'm sure others were suspicious by now too, and keeping their mouths shut out of courtesy or fear for their jobs. We would have to have a talk and be more careful.
