Warnings: dysphoria mentions, refusal to remove binder, chest mentions(?)
There's not enough royality stuff honestly. There's not enough trans Roman (or sides in general) fics either so here. Really just a short hurt/comfort thing to cheer myself up. But take this as a reminder if you bind to take it off when it hurts and remember that despite what your dysphoria may tell you, you can look great without it. It's important to be sure you're safe before anything else. Also I'm a huge hypocrite lmao.

"Roman?" Patton called as his knuckles rapped at the red door to his boyfriends bedroom, stepping back to wait for a response. "Can I come in?"

He faintly heard Roman making a noise of agreement, wondering what he was up to that had him so focused he couldn't even use his words to invite Patton in. His fingers clasped around the cold metal doorknob, twisting it open and making his way inside. His gaze immediately jumped to Roman's desk, assuming he must have been working but he wasn't there. His eyes made their way across the room, checking his bed and anywhere else he may be hiding.

"Uh... Roman?"

"Down here." He heard Roman mumble softly, Patton's eyes finally falling on his boyfriend lying in the middle of the patterned carpet. He was wearing one of Patton's oversized cat sweaters and baggy pajama bottoms. Patton smiled at the sight until Roman's head shifted so he could look up at Patton, frown pulling down his lips and eyes.

"Is something the matter?" Patton asked softly as his own smile dissipated, stepping closer to his boyfriend. When he got to his side he sank down to sit cross-legged beside of him, concern etched into his features. "Why are you in the floor?"

"I don't feel good." Roman mumbled, shifting his way closer to Patton to lay his head in his lap. Patton's hand immediately gravitated towards his hair, fingers threading their way through it, nails gently scratching his scalp in a soothing gesture. Roman shivered under the touch and leaned into it, eyes falling shut as he sighed.

"Why don't you feel good, honeybee?" Patton spoke in a whisper, hand that wasn't in his hair sliding down his arm until he could interlace their fingers. His palm was warm against Roman's, and he once again accepted the gesture by pressing against it, holding Patton's hand a little tighter.

"It's just... been a bad day." He shrugged, looking up at Patton through his lashes. "I've had a hard time being creative and getting work done. And now... my back hurts, and I know I need to stop binding for the night but I can't bring myself to take it off."

"I'm sorry, love." Patton said, running his hand down Roman's hair until he reached his neck and shoulders, rubbing there instead. "Maybe you just need a break? From working, and definitely from binding. I could help you get it off and give you a massage, if you'd like. Then we could cuddle in the bed and watch some movies, and you won't even have time to focus on work you can't do or dysphoria."

Roman hummed quietly, considering the offer as Patton continued to rub at the tense spots on his shoulders. He had to admit that it sounded nice, but he could hardly stand the thought of looking at himself while he took his binder off right now. He shifted slightly as he thought about it, wincing as his back ached at the movement. It definitely needed to come off.

"Will you help me?" He said quietly, quickly receiving a nod from his boyfriend. He sat up with a bit of help from Patton, who then pulled his sweater and shirt up over his head. His binder followed soon after, Roman's eyes staying closed as it was removed. The pressure on his back disappeared but his chest felt heavy and uncomfortable. Patton pulled his shirt back over his head a moment later, helping him get his arms into it before Roman's eyes finally opened.

He was greeted by Patton's gentle and adorable smile as he looked at Roman. He leaned forward quickly to press a kiss to his chin, his nose, his forehead, and finally his lips. Roman kissed him back, hands finding their way into Patton's hair, staying there for a while.

"You're such a handsome boy," Patton uttered once he'd pulled back, still smiling. "A brave, handsome prince. I love you."

"I love you too," Roman mumbled, making Patton squeeze his hand.

"Now, lets get out off the floor and get to that back massage and movie I mentioned." Patton said with a grin, leaning forward to press one more kiss to his boyfriends lips before they got up, hand in hand and with Roman already feeling much better than before.

Whoop I've been home for an hour already and still haven't managed to get up to take off my binder yet, aha

I really should get up and take care of myself so I don't accidentally fall asleep like this, cause I'm exhausted. So like. Thanks so much for reading this, take good care of yourselves. *Roman and Patton both dressed in cat sweaters with dogs in the front pocket bring you a ring pop*

Oh yeah by the way, the ring pop dimension that I rule over now has a new princess, which is my girlfriend Sammi lol. Just figured I'd mention that here. Anyways uh, bye-Bob
