Requested by my friend Porto, aGuyInThePublicEye hope you enjoy! It's a bit short, sorry, but I hope you still like it!! Prepare yourselves for softness ^-^
It was mostly dark in the house as Roman padded through the mostly quiet house that early morning. A flash every now and then came through the windows, followed by the low, distant rumbling of thunder, the comforting kind you could feel in your bones as it sounded. The only other noise filling the house was the loud pattering of falling rain hitting the rooftops, the windows, the ground outside. It was a heavy rain, one that was sure to last for most of the day.
Roman found Patton sitting on a stool from their kitchen that he had moved to be by the window, staring out into the dark, overcast sky and the rain. He leaned against the window which Roman was sure probably felt freezing, especially compared to the warmth of their home. Roman made his footsteps intentionally louder, not wanting to scare the man as he approached. He saw Patton glancing over at him, smile on his lips growing even wider as he saw him.
"Good morning, my love." Roman spoke softly, feeling it was necessary. He didn't want to disturb the soft quietness that embraced their home in a warm, comforting hug.
"Morning, sweetheart." Patton responded, voice just as lilting and quiet as his. He turned on the stool to face more to the side, Roman coming to stand beside of him. He kept his gaze switching from Roman back out to the peaceful rain. Roman kept his gaze trained on his husband, smile pulling up the corners of his lips. He reached out and gently pressed his hand against Patton's, interlacing their fingers together. His thumb brushed back and forth along the side of his hand, soothing and soft.
Patton turned finally to face Roman properly, smiling up at him. Roman smiled back, free hand coming up to Patton's cheek as he leaned down to press a kiss to his lips. His lips were warm and soft, and tasted slightly of chocolate. When Roman pulled away and opened his eyes he found Patton's free hand holding a mug, likely full of hot chocolate.
"I made you some," Patton said, gesturing by pointing the top of his head toward the kitchen. "I thought you'd be out of bed soon after I left. It should still be warm."
Roman smiled, pressing another kiss to Patton's lips before going to retrieve his own mug. He returned in hardly any time at all, sipping at the mug and staring out of the window with Patton.
"What a way to start the day," Roman hummed, leaning into Patton's space. Patton in turn leaned to rest against him, arm wrapping around his waist and pulling him in close. "The rain, hot chocolate, my absolutely perfect husband... How could this possibly get any better?"
Patton hummed as well, kissing Roman's arm as it was the closest thing to him. "We could turn on a Disney movie that won't drown out the rain, and cuddle up together on the couch if you'd like?"
Roman chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to Patton's forehead. "You find a way to make everything absolutely perfect, don't you, my love?"
Patton stood, pulling Roman into a long, loving kiss before he began leading him over to the couch, smiling wide. "Well, you deserve nothing but the best, sweetheart."
