Requested.
Virgil had to admit, he was a lot more anxious than he really should be. Of course, that always seemed to be the case with him. He knew he had nothing to worry about, that his boyfriends were the most amazing people in the world, and they would definitely be understanding. Still, it was hard to open up about something like this. He had never shared the information with anyone in his life, so even if they would take it well it was still scary to finally let other people see a part of himself that he had kept hidden for so long.
Despite these thoughts, Virgil still took the steps out of his room and down to the living room where his boyfriends were sitting on the couch, each doing their own things. He didn't make any attempts to draw their attention when he first walked in, although he still received it when he sat down on the couch with them all. Roman, who he sat down next to, pulled him into his side with the arm he wasn't drawing with, Patton saying hello, and Logan offering a small smile in his direction. He returned the greetings, and felt most of his nervousness melting away.
They loved him. They wouldn't care what he said today, wouldn't let it affect their feelings for him. He loved them all so much for that.
Leaning into Roman's hold, Virgil spoke up to gain their attention. "Hey... I was uh, I wanted to... tell you guys something. I'm a bit... nervous, talking about it, but I know you guys care about me so I... I wanted to say it anyways."
Immediately all of their attention was turned to him. Roman put down his drawing, Logan his book, and the tv show Patton had playing quietly paused. Each of them were ready to listen to whatever Virgil had to tell them. The attention made his nerves appear once more, but he reminded himself that he could do this. Everything would work out fine.
"What is it, Virgil?" Logan asked.
"Don't be nervous! We're already glad you felt like you could talk to us, so don't be worried. We're right here for you no matter what you say!" Patton assured, Roman nodding and holding him tighter.
Virgil smiled softly at the words, slowly meeting each of their gazes. He knew he should listen to Patton, should be reassured completely at what he said, but with each of their eyes trained on him he could start to hear his doubts creeping in the back of his mind again.
What if they think I'm weird? What if they want something I can't give them? What if they changed their mind about being with me?
He knew each of his thoughts was irrational. They would never make him do anything he didn't want. They were kind people, and they wouldn't think poorly of him over this. He was sure they wouldn't, but the thought still lingered.
Virgil pressed on anyways, opening his mouth and letting the words he'd practiced saying over and over in his head spill from his lips. It was a lot less... graceful, in real life, realizing as he said it that an explanation might be needed and stumbling into explaining things.
"I'm asexual," he had blurted, then added. "I-If you don't know what that means it's basically like, uh, I don't really..." his face flushed, the explanation worse to explain than saying the original words had been. "It-It means I don't feel attracted to anyone, in a sexual way, l-like romance is fine, I love you guys a lot, but I'm not really into anything else other than that. I know most people are, so it's kinda weird of me I guess, b-but I-"
Realizing Virgil was not about to stop rambling any time soon, Roman planted a soft, quick kiss to his lips, pulling away immediately afterwards with a smile. Virgil got the hint, mouth held firmly shut as he looked at each of his boyfriends.
"We get it, Virgil. You don't have to explain any more." Roman told him, another kiss being left to his nose, and then cheek. Behind him Patton nodded enthusiastically.
"And it's definitely not weird! None of us think that, we love you for exactly who you are." He assured him, reaching around Roman's side to take one of his hands in his own.
"I know Patton said so earlier, but we truly are proud of you for being able to come to us about this." Logan added on. Virgil couldn't contain the wide smile growing on his lips, or the tears welling up in his eyes.
"Thanks," he mumbled softly, wiping at his eyes with his sleeve before wrapping his arms around Roman, pulling him in closer. He looked around him to Logan and Patton expectantly, Logan moving to sit on Virgil's other side, and Patton rising to sit in Virgil's lap, wrapping his arms around his neck and kissing him sweetly as Logan put his arms around him.
The rest of the night continued with each of them holding each other close, whispering their "I love yous" softly. Virgil was glad he decided to tell them.
Sorry this was short, but I hope you liked it okay anyways!! Thanks for the request, and thanks so much for reading. Also I have no where else to share this so like, look at my new hair color!!!! It's not the exact color I was going for(I wanted a green color like dekus hair from BNHA), but it's super pretty and I like it anyways!!
I like it, I also have a nose ring that matches somewhat in color so I'm planning to wear that at some point.
Anyways lol, that's all I have to mention so! I'll attempt to get some more stuff done tonight although I make no promises. Thanks for reading. *you find a ring pop on your bedside table when you wake up* Thanks Paradox-Puzzler for the suggestion! Take care of yourselves. Love you guys. Bye!-Bob
