OMG...please don't eat your grandma! Just eat with your grandma! XD
Punctuation is what gives you the right pauses and tones in writing. Using commas (,), apostrophes (') and quotes ("...") are three most common punctuations besides full stops (.) in writing. The use of exclamations (!) and question marks (?) is known quite clearly, I assume.
I would like to go over the right usages of commas in various situations but there are far too many rules to mention and it would be better to read it up on websites online or in grammar books instead (I'm sorry I'm being lazy here ^^'). There are a couple of punctuation uses I would like to point out though which I hope will help.
* It's vs Its
It's – It is – It's a beautiful day, isn't it?
Its – indicates belonging to something – The dog got scared of its reflection in the mirror.
* When mentioning something belonging to something, add an apostrophe – The moon's reflection (not 'the moons reflection'). For plurals, put the apostrophe after the 's' – The birds' song was beautiful (the song belongs to all of the birds).
* To show a pause mid sentence, use not more than three full stops – It was cold, dark and...somewhat eerie in the deserted warehouse.
* Use 'A' before words that begin with consonants – a car, a truck, a tree, etc.
* Use 'AN' before words that begin with a vowel – an apple, an airy voice, etc. (exception: an hour)
