Y/N's P.O.V"Am I in trouble?" I gulped as I walked to the centre shack with Minho and Newt.
"Why would you be in trouble?" Minho chuckled.
"Well, Gally wasn't exactly happy at me being the one to have found Ben, then a fight nearly kicks off because of me, and then this meeting is called." I sighed. Newt and Minho returned it as they looked at each other.
"No. You're not in trouble. It's just that in the last couple months, things have started to go wrong for us, things that have never gone wrong before. People are being stung in broad daylight, the box hasn't come back in months. And, whilst it's completely coincidental, these things started happening after you came to the glade." Minho admitted, looking at me.
"And Gally thinks that I have something to do with it." I stated, sighing.
"Pretty much. And whilst he's the only one who thinks that, and the rest of us think that that theory is completely insane, he's getting very paranoid about it, and since he's the leader, he called the meeting." Newt nodded as we arrived.
"Great." I sighed as we walked in.
"Hey." My eyes widened slightly as I felt a hand cup my waist but relaxed as I realised who it was.
"Hey, Thomas." I gave him a small smile.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Apart from the fact that I feel like I'm on trial." I sighed, looking up at him. He returned it and gave me a sympathetic look.
"It'll be okay. I promise." He spoke before gently kissing my head. My eyes widened as he did it but that was quickly gone as butterflies filled my stomach. I looked up at him and smiled again.
"Alright, guys, let's make a start." Gally yelled as he walked to the front.
"Here we go." Thomas sighed.
"Okay. I'm not going to sugar-coat it, things in the glade are changing. First of all, the box hasn't come back up in months, and then Ben gets stung. Something is wrong, seriously wrong, and we need to figure out what that is. Until we do, runners, I want you back here by seven at the very latest. No one is to go out into the woods alone at night, or out of the view of the group, and only go out of view of the group in the day if it's absolutely necessary. No one had seen Ben before he was stung for hours, so we stick together. That's how we get through this." Gally nodded. Thomas scoffed and looked down, making Gally look at him.
"Something wrong, greenie?" Gally asked, making Thomas clench his jaw and look back up.
"Yeah. You say that we need to stick together to get through this, which, don't get me wrong, I totally agree with, but it's kind of hypocritical coming for you, considering that you think that Ben was poisoned by Y/N." he spoke, tilting his head and making people chuckle and nod in agreement.
"Well, I'm sorry, but I'm not the only one who thinks that there's some kind of link between her and all of this." He scoffed. Tears pricked my eyes as Minho took my hand and Thomas stood up.
"Look, there is no link between any of us and what's happening. It's as simple as that." He nodded as he walked down at the stage bit. He looked at everyone.
"Yes, things are changing. And yes, we need to stick together. What we don't fucking do, is start accusing each other of poisoning other Gladers or spreading rumours that someone is somehow linked to the issues. We stick together by helping each other out and working to the solution, without rumours or hate. That's how we get through this." Thomas nodded, looking at me through the crowd and making me smile.
"Fuck this, meeting adjourned." Gally scoffed, staring at Thomas as he left the shack. I scoffed at him as he left before turning my attention back to Thomas.
"Thank you." I smiled as I hugged him.
"Of course. He has no evidence or reason to blame you for what's happening. He's just looking for some answer as to why everything is happening, and for some reason, he's chosen to blame it on you." Thomas sighed. I returned it and looked down.
"Look, whatever is going on, it isn't linked to you. Anyone who matters knows that. So, try not to worry about it, okay? I've got your back." He nodded, gently running his hands up my arms. I gave him a small smile.
"Thanks, Thomas. I appreciate it." I nodded. He returned it and gently kissed my head again, but he let it linger this time. I closed my eyes at the heavenly feeling of his lips against my skin. He broke the kiss and looked at me. I gulped as he briefly looked at my lips before giving me a small smile and pulling me out of the shack.
