I sat on my bed, fiddling with the homemade engagement ring that Thomas had given me as I waited for Minho."You ready?" I looked up and smiled as he stood at my door.
"I think so." I nodded as I stood up.
"Come on. You survived three years in the maze, getting married should be nothing." He smiled, making me laugh.
"You're right. I love him, that's why we're doing this." I spoke.
"Exactly. Oh, he wanted you to wear this." He spoke, giving me a white rose from Vince's garden. I smiled and nodded, placing the rose into my hair before taking Minho's arm.
"Alright, then. Let's get you married." He smiled, making me laugh as we started to walk out of my shack. As soon as we walked out, I could see Thomas, Newt, Frypan and Vince on the beach, stood in front of a flower arch that they had made. I smiled to myself and let tears prick my eyes as Minho walked me onto the beach and down to them. Thomas smiled at me, his own eyes glazing over as we got to him. I looked at Minho, smiling as he kissed my cheek before joining Newt. Thomas looked at me.
"You wore the flower." He smiled.
"It's the closest thing that I'll ever get to a veil, so I thought I would." I nodded, making him laugh as he took my hands.
"You kids ready to get unofficially, not legally, but nonetheless, married?" Vince smiled, making us laugh.
"Let's do it." Thomas nodded, looking at me as he smiled.
"Okay. So, the only thing that I remember about weddings is the vows. I believe you two came up with your own, so Thomas, you first, buddy." Vince nodded. Thomas returned it as he looked at me.
"Where to start?" he chuckled, shaking his head slightly.
"I fell in love with you the moment you appeared in the box. I realised that I had fallen in love with you when you ran into the maze, because I figured, only someone who truly loved me would risk their own life for the slim chance that they'd save mine too." He spoke, looking into my eyes. I smiled and bit my lip as tears started to form in my eyes.
"I think that you'd agree that we've gone through hell together. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you and I know that we'll never be officially husband and wife, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is that I love you. So much. And I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together, happy and safe." He nodded, tears leaving his eyes as tears also left mine.
"Thank was beautiful." I smiled, making him return it.
"Y/N, your turn." Vince spoke.
"I've never been good at writing heartfelt speeches, so I just thought I'd wing it." I shrugged. Thomas laughed and nodded. I looked at him.
"When I arrived in that box all those years ago, I was terrified. I couldn't remember who I was, I could barely remember my name. All I could remember was this name: Thomas." I started, making him smile.
"And thank god that WICKD sent me in with only that memory. Because that's what started us on this journey. That's what led us to each other, that's what made us fall in love. When I arrived in the box, I thought that my life was over. But you quickly showed me that everything was going to be okay, that I was going to be okay. Do you remember what you said to me, that night by the fire, about a month in?" I asked. Thomas nodded as he looked at me.
"That I would get you out, no matter what." He spoke as a tear left his eye. I smiled.
"You kept that promise. And I love you for it. I love you, Thomas, and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together, safe here, with each other, and with the people we love." I nodded.
"Alright, Newt, the makeshift rings, please?" Vince asked. Newt nodded as he gave Thomas my ring and gave me Thomas's.
"Thomas, you first." Vince nodded. He returned it before gently sliding the ring onto my finger. I smiled at it.
"Oh, Thomas, it's gorgeous." I sighed in bliss, admiring the intricate design formed in the metal.
"We thought that you'd like something a little more beautiful and dainty." He smiled, making me laugh and nod.
"I love it." I spoke, making him smile.
"Y/N." Vince spoke. I gently took Thomas's hand and slid the ring onto his finger.
"Okay. Congrats, kids, you are now unofficially, illegally, still nonetheless married." He smiled, making us laugh before Thomas gently took my face and kissed me. I returned it, holding his face as his hands moved to my waist. He broke the kiss and touched our foreheads.
"I love you. So much." He whispered, shaking his head as he stared into my eyes.
"I love you too, Thomas." I nodded, making him smile as he kissed me again.
