Y/N's P.O.V

I stood in the garden, tending to the fruit and vegetable plants.

"Babe." I looked up and smiled as Thomas rushed towards me.

"Hey." I spoke, standing up. He returned my smile before taking my hand.

"Babe, I'm still on shift." I chuckled as he pulled me away and to our shack.

"I know, but Newt will excuse you once Minho tells him what I'm about to tell you." He nodded, looking at me as he pulled me into our shack and shut the door.

"What's happening?" I asked as he turned to face me. He smiled before taking my face and smashing our lips together. I returned it quickly, holding his waist. He broke the kiss and smiled as he touched our foreheads.

"What happened?" I chuckled. He smiled and held my face.

"You happened." He nodded. My eyebrows furrowed.

"What?" I asked.

"The cylinder that you found. It contained what Minho and I think are schematics that show the route to the exit of the maze. The real exit." He admitted. My eyes widened.

"Oh my god." I laughed as I tightly hugged him.

"And it's because of you." He nodded, holding my hair as he buried his face in my neck.

"This is perfect." I laughed again as I pulled away. Thomas's smile dipped slightly as he took my hands and looked down.

"What's wrong?" I asked. He sighed and looked at me.

"The one downside is that it's so far into the maze that Minho and I wouldn't make it back before the entrance would close." He admitted. My eyes wavered.

"What are you saying?" I choked. He looked at me.

"I think you know what I'm saying. We would have to spend the night in the maze." He nodded. A tear left my eye and I looked down.

"You can't do it. The risk is too big." I choked.

"Y/N, that makes no sense." He scoffed.

"You can't do it, the last time, I got stung, what if one of you gets stung, we don't have any more vials of the antidote." I shook my head.

"Y/N-."

"No, Thomas, it's too dangerous-."

"Listen to me." He cut me off as he took my face again. I choked as I looked up at him.

"If this works, if Minho and I can find the exit, and we can work out how the fuck to open it, we're free. Do you understand that? We will get out and we will be free." He nodded, looking into my eyes. I sighed.

"The risk that Minho and I will be taking is nothing compared to the reward that we'll get if this works. Not to mention that we're not just doing this for ourselves. If this works, I'll be free, Newt will be, Minho, Frypan. You will be free." He smiled, tears brimming in his eyes. I sighed and looked down again.

"We have to do this, Y/N. We have to." He nodded. I gulped.

"I know you do." I choked. He sighed before pressing his lips against my forehead, making me close my eyes and put my hands over his.

"We'll be fine. The three of us survived a night in the maze, and I love you, but it'll be easier with just two of us, especially given how fast Minho and I can run. We'll be okay." He promised. I nodded and looked at him.

"You will come back to me." I nodded.

"I will." He returned it before pulling me into a tight hug.

"Here we go." Minho nodded as the four of us walked to the entrance of the maze.

"You guys got everything?" Newt asked.

"I think so. We've got enough food and water to last us for two days, and we have the cylinder." Thomas spoke before looking at us.

"You come back to us. Both of you." I nodded. The guys sighed and returned the nod before Minho hugged me, Thomas hugging Newt. Thomas turned to me.

"I'm coming back to you. I'm not leaving you in this place." He reassured, taking my face.

"I know you're not." I nodded. He returned it before kissing me. I returned it hungrily, trying to memorise what his lips felt like against mine, just in case he didn't come back. He broke the kiss and tightly hugged me.

"Dude, we've got to go." Minho nodded. Thomas returned it.

"See you guys tomorrow. Wish us luck." Thomas smiled as they started to run.

"Good luck, guys! Come back to us!" Newt shouted as he swung his arm over my shoulder, making me chuckle as he pulled me close.

"See you tomorrow!" Minho yelled as the ran around the corner and out of sight. I gulped as a tear left my eye.

"They'll come back to us. And until they do, I'll protect you." Newt reassured before hugging me, me returning it as I rested my head against his chest.

I sat on the grass in front of the entrance, just staring into the maze. I heard footsteps behind me before they stopped next to me.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Newt asked as he sat next to me. I sighed.

"You know that they're not coming back today, so why are you torturing yourself?" he asked. I gulped and looked down.

"I don't know, Newt. I guess I just think I'll see them running around that corner any second. Habit, I suppose." I mumbled.

"I get that." He nodded. I looked up and choked as the entrance started to close. A tear left my eye and I looked down again.

"They'll be okay, Y/N. I promise." Newt spoke as he pulled me into his side.

I slowly opened my eyes and squinted as they were immediately met by the morning sun. My eyebrows furrowed as I wasn't in mine and Thomas's shack.

"What the..." I mumbled as I sat up and looked around. I was in front of the maze's entrance, with a blanket covering my body.

"Morning, sunshine." I looked up and sighed as Newt walked towards me with a cup and a plate of food.

"Why am I out here?" I grumbled as he sat next to me.

"Last night, you refused to go to bed. And when I came back, you were passed out, so I got you a blanket." He shrugged, sitting down next to me.

"Thanks." I nodded before taking a bite of the apple. I looked up and gulped as the entrance to the maze started to creak open.

"They should be back any minute, don't worry." Newt nodded. I returned it and looked into the maze. As if on cue, they came running around the corner. My eyes widened and I shot up.

"Oh my god." I choked as they ran towards us.

"Guess who's back." Minho smiled as they got to us.

"You made it!" I laughed, running up to Thomas and jumping, making him laugh as he caught me.

"I told you, I'm not leaving you behind." He smiled, looking at me. I returned it before leaning down and kissing him. He returned it passionately and gently put me down so that I was smaller than him again.

"So? Did the schematics works?" Newt asked. Thomas and Minho looked at each other.

"Yes, but unfortunately, finding the exit came with a new challenge. We don't have the key to unlock it." Thomas admitted. I sighed and looked at Newt.

"Right. So, we still have to find the key to get us out." He nodded.

"Exactly." Minho sighed.

"And who said it was going to be easy?" I joked, making the guys chuckle and nod.
