I stare at my computer in shock. How could I have not recognized him?

I stand up hurriedly, taking the computer wi th me, and dash out of my room and to the couch my roommate was sleeping on.

I threw the laptop on the couch and shook her awake. Her eyes shot open and she looked up at me in confusion.

"Sorry for waking you up, but you've got to hear this." I sat beside her and started talking again. "You know that band you like—Twenty One Pilots?"

"Yeah?" She muttered, rubbing her eyes.

"I saw the lead singer today at work." Her eyes widened in shock.

"You—what?"

"Yes! He came in and ordered to go."

"But—out of everywhere in Columbus, he chose the diner you work at?!" She stammered.

"I honestly don't know why or how. What's funny is that I didn't even recognize him."

Maya shook her head in disappointment, "I never stop talking about them! How the hell did you not recognize the one and only Tyler Joseph?" I shrugged. "So tell me, what's he like?"

"He's really nice. Not snooty or stuck up at all."

"Isn't he cute though?" She said and I felt my face heat up.

"Y-yeah—" The brunette lightly punched me in the thigh, smiling widely.

"I ship it." Maya shouted and I shoved my face in my hands.

"Don't you have a crush on him though?" I questioned, lifting my face up.

"He's cute, but Josh is cuter." I smiled at her, (having no clue who she was talking about,) and leaned back onto the couch, thinking of how I would never see Tyler again.

Or so, I thought.

"One hamburger, fries, and a dr.pepper." I read out the order sweetly as I placed the piping hot food on the table. The man and smiled and thanked me.

"You're welcome." I muttered and got back to cleaning off tables.

I grabbed a rag and cleaner from behind the counter then head to a table. I sprayed the clearer on the surface and wiped it clean.

After finishing the rest of the tables, I scanned the diner for any new customers, and finding none, I headed to the kitchen to get a drink.

Frankie and Avery, (who worked the graveyard shift) flashed their teeth at me as I walked in and pulled out my water bottle from my bag.
