New years was approaching, there was less than a month left before they would enter 2023. It made Jimin feel weird that he would enter his first year as an immortal. He no longer had that race against the clock that he had feared his whole life long.

Jimin always strived for success, in all aspects in his life. He wanted to make the best of the short life he would be spending on this planet earth... But now, he had hundreds, maybe even thousands of years in front of him. He wouldn't be able to tell when he was about to die because it wasn't old age catching up to him. His death would be caused by misfortune, a painful death.

Jimin always already had a fear for death because of Jihyun's passing, but now that Jimin knew his death wasn't going to be peaceful, he feared it even more. Was making him a vampire the right choice? Maybe Jimin wasn't made for immortal life. Mindlessly the young vampire trailed his fingers over the necklace.

His death, and the death of the one he loves most... were uncertain. They could die tomorrow, or 100 years from now. Somehow, the race against the clock remained within Jimin's head. This time, he had to run faster and with a constant doubt in his mind.

"You're deep in thought." Jimin looked up from the book cover he had been staring at. He had meant to read up onto the Killer Vampire's nature but obviously his mind took a different route. Jimin smiled, putting the book to the side. "Hi handsome." Yoongi rolled his eyes, sitting on the armrest of Jimin's chair. "What are you thinking about?"

"Us, our future... How uncertain our life has become."

"Ah, the curse of immortality is already getting to you, normally it takes transitioned mundanes like, 80 years, right about when their last loved one dies." Jimin held his hand up, shutting his boyfriend up. "You're not making this better."

"Immortality might seem very fun in the head of a mundane, It's always been a curse. The first person to have ever been made immortal was made this way because of a curse."

"You're making it even worse now." Yoongi grabbed Jimin's hand, putting it in between both of his hands. Jimin no longer had the same sensation at Yoongi's touch. It used to always be cold against his own burning skin, it always sent a shiver down his spine.... Now they were on the same level. It didn't make Jimin feel any different for Yoongi, he still loved that man with his whole entire heart, but he had to be honest with himself.... Their relationship has changed.

Yoongi kissed the top of Jimin's knuckles, making the other man blush, or well, what would have been a blush if he was still a human. "We'll be fine. We have each other and time for as we know it, is on our side. Yes misfortune can always happen, but we shouldn't live in fear because of it. Let's take life one day at a time, okay?"

"Okay." The younger one smiled, squeezing Yoongi's hand softly.

"One day at a time, my ass." Jimin mumbled, flipping through a magazine. The bundle of paper got snatched from Jimin's grasp, the annoying shit eating grin of Jungkook looking down at him.

"Why are you looking at wedding magazines?"

"...They happened to still be laying around from Namjoon's planning." Jimin crossed his arms, but Jungkook knew that wasn't the only reason. "You want to marry him?"

"Duh, I love him. And all of you already got married... I want it to be my turn already."

"The rest of us have been in our relationship for years... You? 6 months?" Jimin narrowed his eyes at Jungkook's remark, the fledgling snatching back the magazine. "Mind your own damn business Jungkook, let a man dream. At least I know my love is true love, proven by a spell." Jimin childishly stuck out his tongue towards the younger. Jungkook smiled and crinkled up his nose.

"If you want to get married and are so set on it lasting forever... Why don't you ask him?"

"I can't do that! He probably has some stupid family tradition that he needs to be the one proposing, in the name of the Min's blah blah blah." Jungkook chuckled, looking at his own wedding ring. "He doesn't... And even if he did, you two are a gay couple, those rules kinda get thrown out of the window."

"Proposing isn't that easy Jungkook-"

"I know, I had to do it myself." Jimin pouted, glancing briefly at the magazine, at Jungkook's wedding ring and at his own necklace. "You're right. If I want this to happen I have to just do it myself. You're a genius Kook!"
