Loki's pov
When I came conscious my head was pounding so much I didn't even want to open my eyes. I was definitely in a bed, a warm, comfortable bed. I began to stir and found that my hands were still chained and my mouth was still shut. Slowly, I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings.
I was in a bedroom, but the peculiar thing about this bedroom, is that it looked very similar to my quarters in Asguard, although it was a lot smaller. The walls were a dark green, the floor looked like wood but it seemed like some kind of stone that resembled wood. The black curtains were drawn so it was fairly dark in there.
Slowly, I sat up and swept my hair back with my cuffed hands. When I pulled my hands back I saw they were somewhat bloody. I probably hit my head when I hit the ground. The white door was on the left side of the room. I dicided it might be wise to scope out my new location so I put on my boots and headed towards the door.
I opened it slowly. No lock, no guard. I walked through the short hallway into what looked like the main room of a house. This large room was connected to the dining room and kitchen in one open area. The walls were a dusty tan and the floor was brown cement. There were two couches in the main room and a small round table in the dining area. I looked around, there was no one there. It seemed odd, why would I be here without being put under maximum security? There must've been some mistake. Or it's an illusion and I'm being put to a test.
To the left was an exterior door. I cautiously stepped towards it. The place was so quite even my footfalls echoed throught the space. I twisted the knob, it opened. When the light hit my eyes I was overwhelmed by the sun's rays. I squinted until my eyes adjusted and I looked around, there was somebody off to the right. I'm assuming my new slavemaster, although she didn't look like a slavemaster. She looked like a regular midguardian woman, she had long wavy brown hair and she was about average height. She wore a pair of blue jeans and a simple t-shirt. She hasn't noticed me yet as she was busy taking clothing items down from a wire stretched between two poles in the ground and puting them in a basket.
I took a cautious step. Then another. She still hadn't noticed me. I could just run. I could kill her now and take off. 'She doesn't look like a warrior of any kind, if I wanted to be rid of her it would probably be easy at any time. So what's the harm in announcing myself?' I thought.
I stepped towards her with a purpose, to make myself known. And upon hearing my now loud footsteps and rattling handcuffs she spun around and stared right at me. She eyed me up and down with a nervous look on her face.
"That was quite a fall you took." She said, not letting her guard down. "Are you Loki?" I nodded. "I'm Britney. Don't worry, I have no wish to harm you." Like I was even worried about that. "I may have a way to get that off." She motioned to the muzzle I had over my mouth that prevented me from speaking. "Can I try? I haven't talked with anybody in a long time." She gave a nervous chuckle. I nodded and she motioned for me to follow her. I did. She led me around the house to a covered patio which overlooked a great sea of red dirt, short shrubby trees, and cactus.
She opened up a red metal storage container and pulled out some kind of rudimentary midguardian hand tool. "Okay, I'm just gonna try snipping it with wire cutters and if that doesn't work I'll use a hacksaw." She put her hand on my shoulder and pressed down, signaling for me to get lower to give her better access. I got down on one knee. She examined the mask and traced the band all the way around. She finally picked a place on the side to try cutting it and gripped it with the tool.
"Okay, don't move." She squeezed with all her might and after a grunt left her mouth I heard the metal clink on the ground and the fresh air finally reached my mouth! I could move my mouth again! I could breathe again! I could talk again!
