I was true to my word, and I waited in the car park for the rest to join me. I didn't know how things were going to roll once we got away from the humans. They could end me so easily and that thought made my insides turn.
I hadn't had a clash with another vampire in a long time. I always minded my own business.
Wordlessly the seven vampires walked up to me.
"You'll drive with us" one of the girls said. I nodded.
The one with green eyes was nowhere to be seen, and I felt a tinge of disappointment. I still didn't know his name. I didn't know all their names, and while I could've asked around, since the group that surrounded me were popular, I didn't dare bring attention to myself.
The girl who spoke to me, with another girl, motioned me to start walking. They led me towards a black truck. I got in the back, and they started driving.
They didn't initiate small talk, and the silence in the car was too loud I felt like I needed to break it.
"My name is Sage" I said. They probably all knew my name.
The two girls looked at each other, and the one driving shrugged.
"I'm Mia, and this is Sophia" Mia said, the girl in the passenger's seat.
"Do you think Mitchel would hear me out?" I asked. I needed to prepare if I was going to be killed on the spot. The concept of death seemed farfetched to me. I have done them no harm. I was a registered vampire, I wasn't a rogue.
"It depends. I can't really promise you anything" Mia said.
"Thank you" I said, and the silence returned.
We passed the town, with all the shops, and people walking around, without a regard that I'm driving towards my doom. Once we were past the local town, Sophia kept driving, until we reached a line of trees that I didn't know existed.
The snow has coated the green, and it had a serene look to it. The trees were formed like a wall. I looked out the window and I saw movement. I was sure that the trees were only a means to end, to shield the vampires that stood guard.
She drove a little more, and we came across a clearing, which was fenced with more high trees, surrounding it.
In that clearing, stood a coven home in a formation of houses. All made out of mahogany wood. The roof was thick with snow. It was actually quite beautiful. The whole area seemed so peaceful. It felt well sheltered. It was a contrast to the simple life back at the town.
