Jacob's P.O.V

I don't remember much after my talk with Bella. I drank, a lot, after we talked and everything that happened has come to me in bits and pieces. I remember drinking, I remember talking to Seth, Garret and Paul and I also remember running into Edward and having some exchange of words. What did I say? I can't remember exactly, but whatever it was pissed Bella off.

Things only began to be clear when we got back to my house. The sky was falling, literally. No one could go home with a thunderstorm that bad, so I brought Alice, Jasper, and Rosalie back to my place as Emmett went and dragged Bella back. At least that's what I thought he would do. We were all drying ourselves in the living room as Sue looked for clothes to lend to the girls and the guys when Emmett came back empty-handed.

"Where is Bella?" She asked urgently. "Where is she? Why didn't you bring her back?"

Emmett sighed, taking a towel from Sue as soon as she offered it. "She went to look for Edward."

"What?!" Everyone yelled, except for me.

"Why would let her go?! Bella can't drive in the weather like this!" Alice yelled.

"What did you want me to do? Drag her here kicking and screaming? Hell, she didn't want to come here in the first place!"

"It doesn't matter, if you're a true friend, you would do that! It's about her safety, Emmett!" Rosalie snapped and turned to me. "Jacob, say something! It's your girlfriend-"

"Bella and I broke up," I said, sitting down on the couch. Dad is going to kill me for sitting on the couch while wet. "But I do agree, Emmett, it's too dangerous for her to be out there."

"Look, I did my best, okay? But Bella wasn't okay, she wouldn't have been able to come back here and not know where Edward is, come on guys, you know her better than that! Besides, she was so pissed at Jacob... Look, I told her to be careful and call me as soon as she got to a safe place to wait out until the rain settled."

"Fine, I suppose that's good for now, hopefully she'll call you," Jasper said.

"It's not okay, but what are we doing to do about it now? Jacob, I've got a bone to pick with you." Rosalie sits on the table in front of me and says, "why did you guys break up?"

"Isn't it obvious?" I ask. "Where is Bella right now?"

"Oh, come on! That doesn't mean anything, Jacob! I mean, this is you and Bella, you guys are the ones everyone looks up to see if they're relationship is even worth a try. I mean, hell sometimes I wished Emmett and I were like you guy!"

"Hey!" Emmett snapped. "What now I'm not good enough in our relationship?"

Rosalie rolls her eyes. "No, but I mean, look at the circumstances that brought them together. Unfortunately Bella's mom died but she came here and she found you. You guys were like the best friends that fell in love and didn't have to hide it or deny it! And you guys have been together for years and... It can't be over. You guys can't possibly be over." Rosalie leans over and takes my hands in hers. "Bella and you? That's the endgame, Jacob, and you cannot give up on it so easily."

I sigh, gripping her hands in mine. "I don't want to lose her either, Rose. But you... You don't know Bella as well as I do. You've been her friend for a year and I get that you hate to see this happen, but the one person that knows her as well as I do is Alice and she's not the one making the case here."

Rosalie turns to Alice, who is sitting beside Jasper with her eyes locked on the ground. Rosalie made a good case, our start was bookworthy, but it isn't enough. If I heard from Alice, the one person Bella can confide in more than anyone, then probably I could believe it. But Alice has not been able to look at me since we walked in.
